As we checked out on the day this hotel closed for the year we thought the staff likely to be short on energy. The welcome we received after a long day traveling was outstanding. The hotel was lovely and had the best barman. Thank you Giovanni for all the recommendations, you did not steer us wrong once. Location was perfect.

Perfect Location and Wonderful Staff

The location of this hotel is perfect, beside Piazza Vittoria, near the water and the Via Marina Grande where one can eat seaside. And it is only a very short walk to the center of Sorrento. The ‘colazione’ (breakfast) each morning, that included prosecco, was in a stunning room, bright and cheery with white linen table cloths and an artistic display of a large variety of food choices. The ‘camerieri’ waiters were friendly, professional and helpful. A special thank you goes to Francesco and Antonio for giving us such a wonderful start to each day. The beds were comfortable and the room was all we needed, and were tidied and cleaned well each day. Veronica at reception was very helpful, as were all who worked there. We each (Barbara and Lucianna) loved this hotel and highly recommend it. We both hope to stay there again sometime.

Attention to every single detail makes this hotel an ideal choice for an unforgettable experience in Sorrento. The relaxed elegance of the rooms, the quality of the breakfast buffet (nothing short of amazing), not to mention the high professional standards and the remarkable kindness of every member of the staff. Last but not least, from the terrace you can also enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples. This experience doesn't come cheap, but it's worth every penny.

Gem of a Hotel in a Perfect Setting

Sorrento is a stunning location on the Amalfi Coast and this hotel close to the train station overlooks the the ferry port and two marinas on the gulf of Naples .. This is a very classy hotel with a wonderful staff. During our 4 day stay I often though to myself " I don't deserve a hotel this nice". We had many great meals in Sorrento and Rome but by far the best was at the Hotel Continental dining room with Antonio and Lorenzo serving us special treats. One very small suggestion for them...we both had colds and needed real Kleenex boxes .

Excellent hotel in perfect location

I recently had a group of 27 adults stay at the Hotel Continental for 5 nights. First of all, the management was very easy to work with. They responded immediately to all emails. Upon arrival the front desk personnel were efficient and organized. The hotel is ideally situated in Sorrento. It sits overlooking the Mediterranean yet is minutes away from shopping and superb restaurants. The rooms are clean and a nice size with lovely bathroom amenities. Breakfast is beyond excellent. Everything you could want is served. In general the staff are so professional and courteous. When they see you getting of the elevator and walking through the lobby, they all acknowledge you. You must have drinks on the roof top bar. Giovanni is absolutely the best bartender! He is so personable, polite and funny. Try his award winning drink. I highly recommend Delfinio’s restaurant on the port front. There are lots of excellent restaurants specializing in fish, but this is the best. You can walk there from the Hotel Continental. In general, you absolutely cannot go wrong booking this hotel.
