Recently spent 5 nights at Joe & Chris' fantastic haven of peace and calm. Room is great, fan somehow keeps it cool & easy to sleep, excellent location easy walk to beach, bars, town and nature reserve. Breakfast very special (how good can breakfast be, you ask?) very special is the answer. Joe & Chris very informative and helpful good company. All in all a memorable few days

We stayed for the last four nights of our 3 week tour around Costa Rica. Of all the places we stayed this was the most comfortable, with excellent standards of furnishings and cleanliness. The breakfast was amazing and varied each day, some of the fresh fruits were straight from the gardens! We hadn't seen any sloths anywhere else until we arrived and there were two in the tree next to our bungalow!
The hosts were lovely, very informative about the local area with great recommendations. Within a minutes walk is lovely clean beach and three good restaurants. A slightly further walk (10-15mins) is Cahuita National Park. This gives you access to a lovely white sand beach and also a a walk with loads of wildlife to spot. The local bus or quick drive will take you to all the other beaches down the coast too, so loads to see in this area. We didn't want to leave!

Such a beautiful place. I believe there a 4 bungalows and we stayed in #1. Sparkling clean. Flowers on the deck and even in the bathroom. Joe met us and gave a short tour showing us 2 sloths and a few howler monkeys even before we made it to our bungalow. After a long ride from San Josè we we happy to sit out on the porch and levitate. Both Chris and Joe are very friendly and have suggested things to do. Loving the gardens and animals. Highly recommend staying here.

I came with a friend and we were looking forward to a beautiful room in an amazing location with great ratings. The location is nice and the pictures are representative. However, service was disappointing with hosts who do not seem to enjoy their work. We felt unwelcome. More importantly, the rooms are not safe for this type of environment as the roof does not seal the room. Bugs and various animals came in the room. What if it had been snakes? Besides, howler monkeys made a huge raucous and we were not warned. Price is not aligned with quality. In the end, the experience was unpleasant. I do not recommend.

Joe and Chris are the best hosts ever! The meals and dining experience is exquisite. Their recommendation for the local cuisine is so exceptional. My wife and I upgraded to the honeymoon package and enjoyed every bit of our stay. If you are looking for a place with a little adventure and much relaxation this is the place for you. You are literally in the jungle with sloths and monkeys! It's amazing!
