Well located near metro link to airport and walkable to city centre/ riverside. Quiet location, very comfortable and clean two bedroom suite. Staff friendly and very helpful. Excellent choice of breakfast, well presented. Good wifi.

My husband and I travel a lot and usually stay in chain hotels due to their reliability. However with Porto over New Years the budget didn't stretch that far! Neither of us were disappointed with the guesthouse. The location is a short walk to the city and is far away from the bustle. There were two downsides to the stay though. Firstly the shower was tiny. And even my European standards. Tiny with a shower curtain... secondly breakfast didn't start until 0815. The spread was lovely but a very late start. In Australia breakfast usually starts at 0600 and in Spain we experienced 0730 but I felt 0815 was quite late for what is a cold (although good) breakfast.
Nice place

Excellent hotel, a huge plus is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The room was a little uncomfortable for a family since the home is an older but beautifully redone home, but rooms are awkward in design and did not provide some privacy given the design of the two bedroom rooms. The rooms with one bedroom were much nicer. Breakfast was very nice. Overall a great place and would stay there again.
Pretty much the best I've ever stayed in for such a great price!

If you, like us, are on a certain budget but hate to compromise on quality, then definitely book the Cosme Guesthouse. We stayed for just a few nights but loved it. We were a party of 3 friends who stayed in the Klees Room for 3 nights B&B in September 2016.
Be aware as you approach down the street, that the big white front door is set above normal street level, so you have to go up a few steps to get to it. Your room key card can be scanned on the front door once you have it, so you can come and go as you please. On check in we were delighted to be shown into the lounge, offered a drink of our choice and left to relax before checking in. The guesthouse has a contemporary and very clean design, there are plenty of books to be browsed in the breakfast room/lounge.
Our room was so big, it was basically an apartment, which was a wonderful suprise! It had 2 separate bedrooms off of the lounge, a kitchen area (which was fully stocked and equipped for cooking) and a bathroom. We had air-con, a big sofa, table and chairs in the lounge which was perfect for the evenings. The kitchen had a sink complete with cleaning products & sponges, an under-counter little fridge and a 2 ring hob with all the pots/plates etc we could have needed to be self-catering! There were also a range of teabags (black, green, chamomile etc which was a lovely touch!). In the bathroom a hairdryer was supplied.
On our last day we informed the Receptionist that we were leaving before breakfast started and later on, in our rooms we found food had been left for us. We had; cartons of milk & fruit juice, bread rolls, croissants, ham, cheese, salami, butter and 3 glasses of port wine as a goodbye gesture.
On an average day at breakfast we had similar things provided ie bread (we suspected it was homemade because it was lovely, fresh & soft!), croissants, cakes & pastries, sliced melon & orange, hams, cheeses, jams, hard-boiled eggs etc and teas/coffees/juices.
In terms of getting out and about fromthe guesthouse, we found most of Porto accessable on foot. We found we were roughly equidistant between Campo 24 Agosto & Heroismo metro stations (both about a 5-10 min walk with cases) but since most of what we wanted to visit was in in the Baixa-Chiado/Sao Bento area, we walked easily with the tourist map.
There were a couple of tiny things I wish were different; but the good of this place vastly, vastly outweighs them. I mention them here for information only. The shower cubicle is tiny and the shower curtain seemed stuck to me constantly. The character and age of the building means it has uneven flooring in some places - I had to prop up one side of my bed with towels or risk falling out! There isn't a great deal of places to eat out within easy walk of the guesthouse, but we managed fine by eating at Restaurant Salmao (Largo Ramadinha 75) each night! We found the neighbourhood very quiet at night, so perfect to sleep soundly after a busy day sight-seeing!
Would highly, highly recommend Cosme Guesthouse to you - and the beautiful city of Porto - and am happy to try to answer questions if you need to.
Affordable accommodation in Porto

Nice B&B in a traditional area of Porto. Everything is in walking distance and some nice typical restaurants are in close proximity.
The room was really large and I loved the high ceilings and the great A/C.
The breakfast is average compared to the price.
