We stay only one night in september, the staff was kind and polite, the room huge and clean, actually a very quiet place, we slept very well. The only thing was that the check's out hour was too early (10.30 a.m) and the time for breakfast just from 7 to 10.. too early for me as well. Anymay the breakfast was very tasty and there were many choises.

The hotel is advertised as a hotel and reasturant, so after a long tiring car journey we four adults were looking forward to dinner at the Costa Azul. The restaurant is actually only open for about 4 months of the year, the hottest ones, and we stayed in October. Complete mis description on both tripadvisor and booking.com. The staff spoke hardly any English, only the booking and payment variety. The mangeress asked for full payment up front (2 couples 6 nights) which we declined. To start with the breakfasts were very poor with stale bread and cakes, but once they realised we were not going to eat any of this rubbish we started getting served fresher food. The scrambled eggs and bacon was much enjoyed.
The wifi advertised as free was very flaky and the router had to be whacked with a broom handle to get it to work.
The bedrooms were spacious and kept very clean, both rooms had a balcony but no chairs or table on which to enjoy the fresh air and scenery. The hotel lies very close to a railway, but trains were fairly infrequent and did not bother us. There is a beach within walking distance along with a couple of restaurants, one a very good pizza place. The hotel is only on two floors not sure where the fourth floor was in previous posting. It was sky only!
We did not use the pool as no shower only a piece of wiring sticking out of the ground. Everywhere there were notices with stroppy instructions about what to do or not to do at any given time. Not very friendly.
Walking into Balestrade meant no pavements and dead animals along the roadside, so really a car a must or walk with extreme care in daylight.

Excellent hotel in a great location only a short walk to great cafes and restaurants, the old town and cathedral.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable with very friendly staff
I would recommend booking one of the premium rooms as they are more spacious, I saw one of the standard rooms and it was very small. Ask for a room 4th floor or above with sea views and you will be very happy

If you’re looking for a quiet peaceful break then Hotel Costa Azul is the perfect place. Situated in a quiet spot just five minutes from the beach this small friendly hotel offers clean modern comfortable rooms, a lovely private pool where the only sound you can hear is wood pigeons and an occasional car passing by. There is also a nice quiet restaurant in the hotel where you’ll be served quickly and with a smile. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and always happy to help, particularly Monica and Giuliana on reception. Within walking distance you won’t find much in the way of amenities, but the beach has a couple of small friendly restaurants, and an area where you can hire beach umbrellas and sun loungers.
We had a great stay at the Hotel Costa Azul – it’s the perfect place to chill out. Giuliana – do not shut up... please keep talking. :)

This is a lovely hotel with lots of extras, fabulous service, a very big pool and a great breakfast. We liked the really good sized rooms, the view and the excellent food. Personally I don't like TVs on the dining room and some of the hotel is getting a little bit tired in places, but overall it was very good value and we enjoyed our stay. It is possible to walk to Balestrate along the beach but it is a bit rubbish strewn and is in fact quite a long walk.
