We stayed here for one night in their standard rooms.
It was clean, quiet, and high quality for a small town such as this. Coming from Argentina where the staff at the hotel there were professional and helpful, we found the staff here to be a lot more abrupt and straightforward, but it's part of their charm and we took no offence to it.
The hotel is a little far from town (20 minutes walk) where the old town, food and shops are, but it is right next to the sea and has views so it's a tradeoff depending on what you're looking for.
In all, great hotel - would probably stay somewhere closer to town next time but this is no fault of the hotel. It's great value for what you pay for.

Very nice hotel. Room, bed, landscape view, spa (opened until 10 PM), swimming pool, sauna, breakfast, facilities in general. Everything very nice. Strongly recommended. The price is fairly appropriate. Personnel very friendly.

Lovely hotel with great river view. Spectacular sunsets. Spacious rooms, with excellent in room facilities. Beautiful outdoor pool, and indoor pool, spa and gym.
Great buffet breakfasts. 15-20 walk to historic town centre.

It was unfortunate that we only spent a night in Colonia due to it being a short holiday. Uruguay is a beautiful country, the people are friendly and the quaint town of Colonia is testament of this genuine hospitality.
Even though the location is a bit far from the city centre, the hotel is perfect and located in an idyllic spot so it was very quiet. I was thrilled by the two types of swimming pools the hotel had. One was a warm water swimming pool located near the gym and sauna and the other was out at the front near the restaurant. So at times, when the outdoor pool was too chilly, soaking up in the warm pool was utter bliss. The breakfast at the restaurant is very delicious and fresh. The promenade overlooking the hotel is very safe and scenic for an early morning run or a brisk walk. The internet worked well and the suite was comfortable. Two things could have been improved. One was that the hotel was rather strict on check-in and check-out times - since we had an early morning flight it would have been good if they gave us an early check-in. The other thing was we had a toddler son who shared the room with us so we were happy with a double bed. But the hotel was rather strict that we had to have an extra bed at $15 and so we decided on booking a suite because that was $20. So it was a bit inconvenient. It was a bit strange because the tourism season was over so they could have been a bit more relaxed. So I wish the hotel staff could have been a little more considerate over this. Besides all this, we were happy with our stay at the hotel and will definitely return!

Rooms are ok, providing freezer and kitchenette (Book suite for more space and separate sleeping room!). If you do not speak any Spanish, this area in UY could "cause" problems. ;-) .. Glad I speak and understand "some" UY Spanish; -) Book rooms through the river side to enjoy greatest sunsets ever!
