The firs room we checked into was awful, holes in the curtain, WIFI would not work, telephone in room did not work, tv was dodgy. Went to reception to change room and were tld they were full. However theyvdid have one spa room, that the previous clients had broken. We said we didnt mind as long as it was clean and the WIFI worked again it did not work and the only way it woul work was by sitting in reception. While we were doing this another client came in and complained and he said when the were there last year it didn't work and was told they were upgrading their system which the had but stll problems. However i must say the staff were excellent and tried everything to help

After reading mixed reviews on TripAdvisor I decided to ignore the key board warriors and book a room at country comfort for our sons oztag tournament.
We arrived on the 12th October and welcomed by the manager/owner Justin. His welcoming friendly manner was more then you would get at any 5 star resort. Professional, helpful and a very caring young man was my first impression.
This motel is massive 60 rooms in total, I am guessing the biggest motel in Coffs.
Like any yes the rooms need a litttle work but what motel around Coffs doesn't?.
Justin was very happy to show us a room that they have began renovating room 49 and it was nice to see that work is getting underway.
Meals in the restaurant are 5 star standard, well priced and really shocked us as we did not expect the size and quality to be that good. Buffet breakfast was also good.
Swimming pool is very large and well maintained and very relaxing.
My advice to travelers is be your own judge and don't take ever key board warriors advice who 90% of the time just want something for nothing.
Our family loved our stay and we have already re booked for next year. Keep up the good work Justin and his family 10/10 from the Walsh family
Country DISCOMFORT

My daughter, her baby and I stayed here on Thursday night, 12th October. We arrived early evening after driving from Sydney en route to Brisbane.
Our room number was 26. I'll never forget it.
When we saw the filthy walkway in front of our door, alarm bells rang. Upon opening the door, the odour emanating from the room was overpowering. We were tired from the trip, had a baby who needed feeding and thought we'd make the best of it...until...my daughter noticed ants on the bed and dead bugs on the floor.
As I was sitting on the bed nursing my grandson, I noticed layers of dust and oily residue on the cabinets, rusty lamp bases and stains on the carpet. I don't think this room had been cleaned for a while.
When I entered the bathroom, there were dead flies and bugs on the floor and the toilet was unclean with no sanitising paper strip to show it had been cleaned!!
Then...as I was putting some drink bottles in the fridge, I noticed the filthy seal around the fridge door, the putrid fridge door handle and the iced-up freezer. Yucky...see photos!
My daughter always books her accommodation with Hotels.com. She was so disgusted with the room that she called to complain. Hotels.com contacted the Motel. The owner, Steph, appeared. As She was listening to our complaints, a cockroach ran across the floor.
She was somewhat apologetic but offered no recompense. She said she had only owned the hotel for four months...no excuse for dirtiness.
I cannot tell you how awful the whole experience was. And all for $143 for the night!!!!!
Threadbare towels, bugs, filthy surfaces, wi-fi that didn't work, noise from the highway etc etc. Just look at the photos!!
It was just grotty.
My family and I have used Country Comfort Motels throughout NSW for years and have always been happy with the accommodation.Very disappointing. We booked this motel on the strength of its brand name but never again.
I am contacting the NSW Health Dept, posting my photographs on Facebook and writing a letter of complaint to the Head Office of Country Comfort in Chatswood, NSW.
$143...unbelievable...
Just don't stay there.
Do not stay here!!!!!

Checked in at 7.40 PM and was told the restaurant was closed at 7.15 PM, because they were not busy, but were fully booked out for rooms, strange, grabbed the key, and went and got some take away, came back, grabbed my bags and food, and went up the stairs, dodging tradies clothes, boots and bodies, sitting outside the rooms smoking and drinking. Opened the room, threw the bags down, looked up and there was a large space where the TV was supposed to be, and also noticed the lack of cleanliness, dusty windows with cobwebs, stains on the floor, etc, rang down to reception, on my own phone, was told to come back down to get a different room, as they thought the TV was there earlier in the day, go figure??, carried everything back down the stairs past the minefield of tradies, into reception, swapped keys, moved to other side of hotel, left car where it was parked, opened the door to see a stained bedspread and a TV, unfortunately no remote, I then started looking for the candid camera as this must be a set up, rang down to reception, again, where the lovely , receptionist apologised profusely , (all this wasn't her fault), she escorted me to their 'Deluxe Suite" room, still carrying my bags and by now, cold take away, room did have a TV and remote and a sticky carpet floor, but hey, the A/C worked and given it was from the 80's it was remarkable that it did work, but faith was restored as the A/C in the bedroom didn't work, and the brackets for the TV in this room were of course empty!! So ate the cold take away, slept on a single bed and watched TV from a distance with a rattly A/C in the background and put on socks to walk on the carpet. Oh almost forgot to mention the sheets and towels are amazingly threadbare, you could almost see through them. If a hotel ever needed a bulldozer and new management this is the winner.
