A spontaneous get away to South Florida proved challenging in trying to find reputable, convenient and commodious accommodations at a reasonable price point: As Marriott Elite customers, the Courtyard at Aventura checked all the necessary boxes. The hotel itself is quite modest in appearance and offerings, with an average sized lobby with an expansive seating area, and humble café with a smattering of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Check-in was efficient and staff were unremarkably accommodating and expeditious at their work. Our room was on the main floor, and despite a distinct smell of restroom cleaning materials wafting through the hall, the room was airy, fresh and of a good size with voluminous ceilings, and a bathroom sporting an external sink near the closet area, a rarity amongst hotel offerings these days. There was no balcony, and no wall mounted thermostat; having to make do with adjusting the thermostat affixed to the wall mounted HVAC unit was a first world problem indeed. To compensate, a smart TV with Netflix and other subscription based offerings helped in making the family feel more at home when away from home, again, a novel treat from other recent vacation experiences. Despite being off the beaten path, and despite boasting an oversized surface level parking area , the Courtyard charges $20.00 a night for parking; ostensibly pricey given the property's size, coupled with the extent of parking available in the vicinity. The beaches are a quick 2 mile jaunt away, and the shuttle to the Aventura mall which is a brisk walk behind the hotel were added conveniences also. The gym area was modest in size, but aptly equipped, as is the pool area which is private, meticulously landscaped and maintained as well. Despite a couple of minor imperfections in the room, and the parking surcharge, (merely a personal quip of mine), I struggled hard to find fault with this property, which is aligned in service, offerings and maintenance with other Marriott properties.

Stared here prior to being brought to the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas Cruise Liner. We arrived late in the evening and there was NO where to eat in the hotel. Had to cross the street to a "greasy spoon type diner".
The room was spacious and clean. Buit, I'd class the bathroom as a bit dated and tired. Had a good night's sleep and availed of a nice enough breakfast the next morning in the hotel food bar of sorts

Inside the room is a pullout bed/ couch, a large flat screen tv, a one cup coffeemaker, a minifridge and a large pullout desk.
In the bathroom is a large floor length mirror, a large mirror over a large countertop. There's a deep tub / shower combo with a large showerhead.
There's lots of outlets. There's free wifi, but no free breakfast. There's a stand in the lobby that sells pastries and coffees it's called "The Bistro".
The only complaint is make sure you get a high floor and a better view from the patio. My view was a green roof and the side of the building. (see photos).

I stay here frequently. Without a doubt the best of the courtyards. Took one star off this time for elevators not working and front desk giving wrong info on cafe times. But these folks actually check your member preferences and fulfill them. We have extra towels and pillows on our profile and they always have our room ready. I do not know why other courtyards and hotels in the Marriott brand rarely do this. A big thumbs up here for going the extra mile.

The staff are friendly and eager to please. I always get a warm and friendly greeting from Tiki, who works at the cafe. She goes above and beyond to serve her customers, and creates a family-like atmosphere. For me, it's the best environment to have a business meeting.
