Hotel was great and clean! Rooms all updated and lobby was nice. Only strange thing was the hallways and lobby smelled like fried food. Plenty of space and our room was on the corner so it was quiet. Would stay again.

I reserved 2 nights and checked in and upon entering the building it was impossible to notice a gathering in the lobby bar area and the rest of the lobby. The noise was crazy loud and the management never asked them to quiet down and had no care about the comfort of the other guests. I use the lobby and business center and none of this was possible. My room was fine but I would like to use the whole property as intended but was unable to enjoy anything about the property due to the drinking, screaming, wild guests having a party in the lobby like they were the only people in the hotel. Don't stay here unless you just want a room. To be clear, the party was going on at 6 pm when I checked in, and continued past 11pm. This property should have been rented out to that party and no one else if you are ok with being a "party hotel". So in closing... If you enjoy a great party hotel, stay here. If you'd like to relax and enjoy, don't stay here.

This is a very nice and well kept hotel. The lobby and back gathering area are beautiful. The rooms are clean and up to date. All the staff were very courteous. My only negative is there isn't a whole lot of going on in this area. It feels isolated but if you are going to the racetrack or the soccer game it's a quick drive away.

We were in the area for a special event and found this hotel to be a great place to be! Our room was oversized and included a larger corner jacuzzi tub, small counter with microwave and refrigerator, wardrobe with attached 3 drawer dresser and desk with a pull out table. The bathroom was very spacious, had a large shower, fluffy oversized towels and a unique make up mirror (I ended up buying one at the front desk before we left).We also appreciated that they provide clean wrapped glasses daily. Ordinarily, we don't like first floor rooms, but this was at the end of the hall and very quiet (with the exception of one night when a group checked in late and congregated in the Bistro area to visit before going to their rooms!). The Bistro was a nice addition for made to order breakfasts and "Cricket" made sure that you had a great experience! They have a relaxing sitting area, business center and outdoor seating with fire pit for your enjoyment as well. Front desk staff, Janine and Melissa, were also very helpful and friendly.

I have spent many a night on the road, including many in the KC area. I find that I am really disappointed when I can't stay at the Courtyard Kansas City Shawnee (when I wait to the last minute to book my room). The staff are very thoughtful; the hotel is very clean; and very comfortable.
