First the pros. Room was very clean and fine for a modest room. Kind of wonky looking sofa, but no fridge, and the mini coffee maker looked used, not dirty, just been used one too many times so I did not make any coffee in it. Check in was odd, the woman checking me in asked me "Are you here for a special occasion?" I said well I am visiting my friend (who was standing next to me) and my friend said, yes, she is allergic to my cat, but this is a great location as I live in the apartments across the street. The front desk lady then wanted to add my friend to the room, gave me 2 keys, and said enjoy your stay ladies. I honestly think she though we were gay lovers and was embarrassed by it. Or just simply did not listen to our answer to her question. Just weird.
The main reason for the 3 stars is for the lack of value. When my husband and I were in town to see my friend a couple years ago, we stayed at the LaQuinta in Dublin, a couple miles away because we were travelling with our dog and the Marioott does not accept pets. The cost was a bit less and you get a free breakfast and a fridge and microwave in the room. The staff is a lot more attentive and friendly as well. I saw the check in person several times over my 3 night stay and not once did she make eye contact. Also while I knew my rate would increase for Monday night, it was almost triple and the hotel was pretty empty on Monday night. I really felt since I gave them 3 nights of business they could have kept the rate down to at least the Sunday rate which was slightly higher than the Saturday one. So I went from $118 to $156 to $273!!!! Bed comfort is based on personal preferences, but I personally found the LaQunita to be superior there as well. I cannot speak to the service as I did not choose to eat at the Bistro, but each time I passed by it was pretty empty. As was the whole hotel.
I stayed at the Mariott basically to save a rental car. Next time I will get the rental car and stay at the LaQuinta. Bigger room, friendlier service, slightly lower cost and free breakfast!!!!
FREEWAY NOISE LOUD!!

Last minute hotel reservation needed in the Bay Area - booked this hotel for a Saturday evening. We were excited to be in the area as it was near our family and loyal Marriott Silver Elite members. Check-in was smooth and staff very courteous. Asked for a room on an upper floor that was quiet and staff said they had the perfect room. It was on an upper floor and upon entry it was perfect! HOWEVER, when we sat down to enjoy a glass of wine it became apparent the Interstate 680 traffic was very loud even though it was a weekend. We turned on the air conditioner and television but you could still hear the freeway noise. We contacts the front desk and they advised they did not have another king room but had a room on the first floor with two beds. When we walked to the first floor and while enroute asked a guest coming out of their room on the non freeway side if it was noisy - they said cars were parked outside their window and they heard the doors slamming and car horns going off when cars were locked - they too tried to get another room but were unsuccessful. We decided just to check out and go to a nearby Hilton hotel. Very disappointing as we really like the Marriott brand, especially Courtyards.
Give It A Miss

Anyone who reads my reviews will see I am generally a fan of Marriott and I have been staying with them more than 3 decades so it pains to write how bad this property is. Now I know they give options to select no linen or towels change and for a 2 day visit it's OK. However here that's what you get if you don' t select the option. No visit no emptying of bins no replenishment of coffee. The Bistro food and staff were pretty good but eating breakfast with the floor dotted with food from the previous nights meals is not great. The checkout staff on morning must be the most miserable woman on earth. Good marks to the shuttle driver. You know that trip advisor question about hints to get a better room - simple stay somewhere else.
Lots of road noise!

Nice hotel - clean - friendly staff, but you need to be sure you ask for a room that does not face the highway. The road noise goes on all night. Otherwise the hotel is ok and the staff is friendly and I'd stay again
In town for Soccer Tournament

Pros : clean and nice entry/ common room to socialize, having a special room available for teams to get together in the evening was a nice touch. Hotel staff was nice and hotel was clean, with a nice outdoor space by the pool to also gather in the evening. Close proximity to good food nearby. Room size was fine. Close to the soccer tournament we attended. Ample parking
Cons: We heard the freeway all night long ( stayed on 4th floor, obviously freeway side which we did not know). Wish there was a fridge in room. Also wish there was coffee or tea complimentary in the lobby rather than only for purchase during the limited hours the Bistro was open. The Bistro staff was nice in the morning and thankfully prior to completing our order informed us that it would have taken over 30min for us to get our family of 5 ala cart items before heading out as they stated due to kitchen size limitations only 1 chef can be back there cooking; and they only had 1 breakfast sandwich that didn't require a chef in the back to make it. ( glad we didn't pre-purchase the add on breakfast option) So we had to head to starbucks both mornings to get breakfast and coffee. Also not something that can be changed but elevators are small had a very hard time getting the cart of luggage to even fit in the elevator nothing could hang over at all or the door doesn't close, hard to even fit 5 people in it.
