A hidden gem!
irishtoo1948on 16/11/2017 14:17Three days at the Crescent Lodge and Country Inn were not enough. They even had a snowfall upon our arrival. How accommodating was that? The grounds were immaculate with a walking trail easily accessible. Cabin with gas fireplace was charming and cozy. Free breakfast was well prepared and generous. And the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Dinner at the Lodge restaurant was delicious and reasonable in price. Beautiful countryside for quiet drives and close to Mt. Airy Resort and Casino for excitement.
Second Time Around!
mushroomjaron 03/11/2017 02:242nd time we’ve stayed here for the show! Very cutesy and dated in a good way! Rooms are decorated differently and they use real keys! I really want to try a cabin someday.
Food in the bar is great & the breakfast spread and setting in phenomenal!!!
Best Kept Secret in the Poconos
Carmela Son 27/10/2017 20:54My husband and I just returned from a 4 day get away at Crescent Lodge. This was our second visit to your lodge and we had a wonderful stay. We were there celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary. This visit we stayed in one of your cottages and it was very comfortable. We enjoyed two delicious dinners in your wonderful restaurant and your continental breakfast is certainly more than enough for anyone. We cannot say enough for the very friendly staff from the office personnel to the waitresses to housekeeping. Another plus is that this resort is famIly owned and on any given morning or evening you will be greeted by the owners mingling among the guests. We will certainly be returning and feel that this Country Inn is the best kept secret in the Poconos.
Uncomfortable and Disappointing Room at Cresco Lodge
Anita Bon 23/10/2017 15:51We had the Stay & Dine package for an October weekend, which included a standard queen inn room, continental breakfast and 4-course dinner with a bottle of wine. Dinners were quite delicious, although one night a wrong entree was delivered and it took about a half hour till it was replaced correctly, long after the rest of us had finished eating. Our room, #3, was the real problem. Contrary to its photo on the Lodge's website, there were no curtains to cover the blinds that let in too much light. But at night the room was poorly lit, with just three table lamps that gave off too little light. The room and bathroom clearly hadn't been renovated in decades. The rug was faded and had an imprint of an iron. The bathroom looked like a relic out of the 1960s. On top of that, the room was horribly warm. We opened the windows at night despite the fact that there were no screens, but that let in all the road noise (and we faced the highway that the lodge sits directly on). We asked someone at the desk to look into it, but the maintenance man never came. We didn't want to turn on the air conditioner. The thermostat -- another throwback to the '60s -- wasn't even on! The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the soundproofing terrible, as the TV in the next room kept us up till about 2:00 a.m. and loud voices from that room woke us at about 7:00 a.m. Our traveling companions' room, at the same price, was larger and brighter, with curtains and screens, so perhaps our room is a neglected exception, but they should get their act together and fix up room 3. We could live with the tired decor, but we slept really poorly due to all the above and it should not have been the case for what we paid.
A Cozy Cottage
billypopon 22/10/2017 01:21We stayed in one of the cottages, which was nicely decorated, and had all of the amenities that you would expect. There were several cottages to choose from, as well as the main lodge. A light breakfast is included everyday from 8 until 11 AM. Dinner is available from Wednesday until Sunday, but we did not get a chance to try it. The grounds and lobby are very attractive. Our only disappointment with our particular cottage was that the gas fireplace made the room too hot, and there was no way to turn it down. It would be much more appreciated in the colder weather.
