Mixed views because whilst a bit dated, the hotel and our room were very clean. We were staying due to a function we where attending in Preston. We used the bar which was fine but when we returned at midnight it was closed which was disappointing. The breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent which was a great bonus. So whilst a little bit dated which depending on how you look at it could be a charming 70s feel or it could be deemed as needing some investment. We paid £95 for room & breakfast - probably felt too much but overall our stay was fine.

My girlfriend and I did a quick road trip around Manchester and Lancaster and spent 2 wonderful nights at the charming Crofters.
Our room was perfect, bed was very comfortable and we loved the rustic feel of the place. We didn't have the chance to have lunch or dinner, but the English breakfasts were *huge* and delicious. Throughout our stay, all the staff we met were exceedingly friendly. Had a couple of drinks at the bar and enjoyed the banter with the bartender and his many local customers. Will be back!

Well positioned not far from M6 junctions and proved a pleasant enough overnight stop while travelling from north to south. Reception friendly and a good breakfast at a reasonable price. Rooms quiet and bed comfortable.

Stayed Friday night for a concert which is a good venue having its own Bar in the function room. On arrival the lady receptionist was very friendly and helpful and check in was no problem.The room was fine and spotless with a comfortable bed and all amenities,the only downside I had was I thought the Hotel was starting to look a bit drab in places and the stairs were a bit of a problem for me having mobility problems,other than that we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel appeared to be decent value for money - until we got to our room! The photos make them look fresh and recently refurbished. Unfortunately, they are dated with water stained surfaces everywhere, ripped and peeling wallpaper and the en-suite had the shower rail hanging off the ceiling.
To cap it off the radiator was on full blast and would not turn off - not very useful when the room faced the A6 - which was like a motorway!
Really disappointed
