3rd time stay in this Hotel.
15-20 minutes ride from the airport and 45 minutes ride from Guangzhou Center by taxi.
I had no problem with the taxi rides,very cheap,no overcharge despite being stuck in the highway for a couple of hours.
Room is comfortable,very clean with impeccable room service even later at night,always ready to help and very friendly.
Internet is very fast,bit slower only if crowded.
Restaurant has a rich menu,they change quite often so it doesn't get boring even for longer stays.
Overall great stay.

This hotel is located around 10-15 minutes from the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and easily 40 minutes drive from Guangzhou downtown.
If you miss the shuttle bus to the hotel, be aware that no taxi will take you there on a regular meter fee. To avoid any issue of the taxi asking you to get off and refusing to take you there, just say straight that you are OK to pay 80 or 100 RMB for the trip or be prepared to find no taxi accepting to get you there.
Be aware that there is nothing within the near vicinity and you need to take the shuttle bus or a taxi to the nearby mall if you want to eat somewhere else than the hotel. The closest mall, which the shuttle bus provided by the hotel takes you to, is quiet good though, and has a decent choice of local and international food.
As mentioned there seems to be some construction going around the hotel and the hotel even provides ear plugs in each room. We were not much in the hotel during the day but at night and morning there was no sign of unbearable noise from the construction going around.
Be aware that this seems to be a very busy hotel and strangely very popular with local companies. It s as if there is some meetings or banquets going on every single day which keeps the hotel always busy so do not expect a relaxed environment.
Breakfast is always busy and since many locals do not understand the please wait to be seated sign, expect your seat to be often taken by a local after you have been to the buffet to grab a plate....After this happened a few times I just gave up on the idea that my seat would be reserved and started eating with strangers every morning with them wondering why I was seating with them when they actually had just taken my table.
The room itself is Ok but definitely starting to age. There are definitely much better rooms within the IHG group in Guangzhou now and even space Wise it is not as large as what you can get from other hôtels located away from downtown. Bathroom and carpet are showing some age and have definitely lost any type of wow feeling.
The overall attitude of the staff was quite good and pretty friendly. We had some mishaps at check in but everything was solved without any loss for us.
The pool is outdoor so can t be used on rainy days.
Overall I wouldn t recommend this hotel unless you really need to be close to the airport. The rooms are very average and the location is just too unconvenient.

So this is how it went, I've been staying at the Crowne Plaza Huadu over the last Six years. Twice a year I visit the Canton Fair and we stay here for about three nights each trip. Two years ago I arrived after 20 hours of travelling from Ireland and they said my room was not available because a guest had stayed on another night. Very sorry and put me up in a local Chinese Dump (dirty sheets, smell of smoke etc.).
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't make a fuss. Just back from my latest trip and they did it again but I found out what they are doing is similar to the airlines and overbooking the hotel, assuming because I came off a late flight that I was not turning up (keep my full room payment) and sell the room to another person. I spoke with a friend and two Germans had the same thing happen to them, Indian chap at the check in had the exact same problem.
The poor girl in reception has to deal with this problem with irate guests on an ongoing basis. The hotel are a disgrace and I will never be staying at Crowne plaza again as if it is a policy in one hotel in the group I can guarantee it is across all the group.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Huadu for one night before an early morning flight from Guangzhou airport.
The hotel is well-located to the airport, as it is a short 15 minutes drive away from the airport and offers a free shuttle bus every half an hour. However, the area just around the hotel does not offer a lot of diversions. As of now, there are hardly any restaurants or shops in walking distance. The hotel does offer a shuttle to a nearby mall.
The rooms are well-sized and have a nicely equipped bathroom. They feature all necessary amenities and are well-furnished.
The food in the restaurant was good, but not very cheap.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
In conclusion, this is a very good option for traveling through Guangzhou airport, but also a good choice for anybody having business in the area.

This hotel is amazing. Near the airport, it has everything needed for a frequent flyer. The restaurant is very nice, the poeple are very professional and they speak a good english.
Rooms are clean and have coffee in the room for poeple like me that need a morning coffee.
