Cumulus group hotel close Tampere center. Standard hotel, small douple room. Clean bathroom. Reception personel polite and professional Breakfast normal european standard, but because of "logistik" little bit "messy". Missing special coffees.

The rooms on the north side a quite comfortable. The south side gets the sun and the rooms can become quite warm in the evening. Rooms are comfortable and have irons and ironing boards. Would stay again, as long as it is on the north side of the building.

stayed 2 days at this hotel during a biz trip to tampere. hotel is centrally located, rooms are nice and clean; staff is friendly and went out of their way to provide us with an early breakfast at 4am so we could get our flight at 6 am in the morning

We were moved to this hotel by Cumulus Koskikatu which was our original choice mainly because of its central location.
We were travelling from the UK to stay with family over Christmas and made our original booking almost a full year before Christmas 2016. Our original booking was cancelled by the hotel in November 2016 and they offered all their customers staying over Christmas alternative rooms in Cumulus Hameenpuisto.
They should not have bothered! We arrived on the 22nd of Dec and were dissappointed to find no hint of Christmas spirit, no decorations, no tree. Come on, this is Finland - home of Father Christmas!
The room was on the top floor in a quiet end of the corridor as we requested but the room itself was far from cosy and comfortable, austere and functional describe it better.
As we stay in Finnish hotels fairly regularly we were really looking forward to breakfast, again - we should not have! The breakfast was the worst we've seen in a Finnish hotel. The buffet did not have any berries or fish, the porridge was supposed to be rice porridge but was very sloppy, obviously they had added more milk than necessary to make it go further. The only hot offerings were 'musta makkara' = local delicacy and cremated bacon, no fried or scrambled eggs to go with either. For some reason though, there were spring rolls and boiled eggs on offer... search me. The yogurts were very odd flavours - 2 potted kinds - and no plain one on offer. However, there was plenty of fresh bread so if you were happy to make a ham a cheese sandwich you were ok!
To add insult to injury the restaurant & bar closed at 21:00hrs and when we were trying to get a drink on the 23rd at 20:45hrs the barman told us that he will be turning the lights off shortly so we cannot stay in the bar, he can serve us a drink but we will have to go to the reception to drink it!
The only person to save the day was the lady at the reception whose unhappy lot was to work every evening over the Christmas period. She was helpful, good humoured and professional. She arranged for us to have a sauna and could not have been nicer. Unfortunately I do not have her name to thank her personally.
Overall, I would never stay in this hotel again based on the experience we had, neither will I now look at any other Cumulus hotels.
Over the last 30 years of regularly travelling to Finland we have never yet had a bad hotel experience, however this was one and we will now return to the hotels we know and love. We know that the standard of Finnish hotels is generally very high and the breakfasts can be amazing but not this time. It is a great pity that a long-awaited Christmas get-together was marred by the stay in Cumulus Hameenpuisto!

At the heard of Tampere, partly nice views to river Tammerkoski. Big parking hall near. Cozy hotel, but my room looked that it should have renewed about ten years ago... Good, somewhat basic breakfast. Friendly staff.
