Somewhat dated but grows on you

The hotel on first sight was a little tired and our room was on the bottom floor so a little dark, but we had twin beds and pushed together, we asked for extra pillows and given them straight away. The room was large enough for us and the bathroom clean, though we were not keen on the shower curtain which tended to stick to you showering.. but all in all functional. The dining room was oldly worldy with wooden beams and old style decor, but this made it quaint but could still do with a new lick of paint.
The breakfast was really good hot food nice and plenty of it and the continental very good with fruit, croissants, cheese & ham.. plus there were cereals and fruit juices..
all in all after staying 6 days we really enjoyed our stay which we thought was value for money

Booked 3 rooms at this hotel to attend a family party nearby. The rooms were a little awkward with the sloping ceilings in the top floor but well kitted out with comfy beds, a hairdryer, tea, coffee and biscuits. Shower was a bit of a trickle, but this was made up for by the generous breakfast. Would stay again if in the area.

On arrival we were welcomed by the proprietor and given a good briefing about the hotel. We had a comfortable double room overlooking the main Skipton road. Very little noise from passing traffic and a comfortable nights sleep. We had a full English breakfast on Sunday morning and what a plateful! Excellent!
From the rear of the hotel there is a great view of the Yorkshire Dales. Parking is no problem to the rear with plenty of spaces and security doors allowing access to the hotel.
We will be more than willing to visit this hotel again. Many thanks for the welcome!

1940s weekend

Stayed here to attend the haworth 1940s weekend as there were no rooms left in Haworth itself. About a 7 miniute drive (£7 in a taxi) from Haworth, so not a bad location. Not a luxury hotel but more than adequete for our needs, The breakfast was good with efficient service, Haworth would be my first choice location, but this place met our needs and we would stay again. .

Tired and shabby but the breakfast was good.

The welcome was rather rushed. (We were not shown to our room.) The general appearance of the place was a little shabby. The planters outside were uncared for, the car park rather rough. The guest entrance was difficult to open from the car park - it needed another handle to grab hold of whilst you turned the lock. The paint-work was tired. The furniture very utilitarian and more than 20 years old. It was not a real double bed but two singles pushed together. There were no written instructions in the room about breakfast or fire drill. There was mould in the shower and on the window frames. The bathroom lock was hanging off the door.
Our radio alarm went off at midnight!! the clock was wrong when we arrived and I corrected it - wish I'd left it alone! on the plus side the breakfast was good.
