Booked here for location. It was close to the reception we were going to. Also booked here because they had a steam room and gym. Called before booking asking about steam room. Booked the room. We get there men's steam room is out of order along with half the men's locker room. Women's steam needed to be reset after I waited 10-15 minutes and no steam came out. The steam room was a large shower stall at best. With a teak bench for two. I had to checkout and leave at this point. Was offered a late check-out but I had places to be and things to do. We are local and wanted to try a new place. We liked the hotel itself. The bed was comfortable. The door to the balcony however would not fully close. The lock was broken and there was a draft coming in. Minibar is reasonably priced.

Our stay was perfectly average. As a whole, nothing was truly bad. They've done a nice job of creating the "hip boutique flat" vibe. The room was clean. Location just three blocks from the Magnificent Mile was great. Toiletries were quality. Staff were nice. Minibar items were surprisingly affordable. They had no problem storing our luggage after checking out but before we left the city.
However:
- The only window in our room doubled as a short door of sorts to a small balcony; there was no weather-stripping and cold winter air was streaming in, along with city noise like sirens (which were quite loud considering we were on the 24th floor).
- The only way to turn the only lamp in the room on or off was to plug it in/unplug it. Even the bellman couldn't find a switch.
- The room was very dim.
- Almost every wall and doorframe was gouged or scratched to some extent.
- There were no hooks in the bathroom (or anywhere else) for used/wet towels.
- Room doors were not soundproof; we heard most conversations in the hall - and we were at the very end of the hall.
- We could hear echoes of the music from the rooftop bar two floors up.
- We also heard almost every word of a couple SCREAMING at each other for more than an hour, starting around midnight and ending sometime after I fell asleep around 1:30 a.m. Lots of profanity.
- An alarm clock that we did not set went off at 5:30 a.m. That was extremely startling/disorienting.
- Pillows were very flat.
- Deadbolt on our door did not turn.
Two or three of these things wouldn't have bothered me, but the sum of it all left me unimpressed. So...it was a fine place to spend one night, clean, and a very convenient location for what we needed. But I wouldn't spend full price here and will likely seek a different hotel next time I'm in Chicago.

It was my first time visiting Chicago and this hotel definitely made my trip! It was located close to Grand station, walking distance to almost everything, and MODERN! It was so clean, cozy, and beautifully spaced. The bed was comfy, with clean white sheets, and the bathroom was perfect. Floor to ceiling windows, and the views are amazing. Hotel staff were friendly and even upgraded our room! I will definitely stay again.

We have stayed at the Dana many times. The amenities are always excellent, the staff always courteous and friendly and the location is perfect for our business trips to Chicago. We have never been disappointed.

Very nice hotel in a great location with a fantastic view and amenities. Very highly recommend staying at the Dana for both personal and business travels. Will absolutely stay there again in the future.
