Convenient Place to Stay

I had planned on staying at a different hotel, but upon exiting off of the freeway on a cold day with icy street conditions, I spotted the Days Inn and thought I would try it as I have stayed in several other Days Inns. The parking lot was virtually empty so I did not think that getting a room would be a problem. It was not and the rates were reasonable. The room they gave me was near the main entrance and I could look out upon my vehicle. The room was comfortable and quiet. The so called big screen TV was not that large, but there was not much on anyway. The desk clerk was quite helpful and recommended a nearby restaurant. There did not appear to be many restaurants within walking distance considering the icy streets and sidewalks. The included breakfast was fairly basic with the usual waffles and not too much to chose from. Coffee was available 24 hours of the day.

The room was nice but the stucco in the bathroom could use some work, My biggest complaint is they where re doing the roof during my stay and the parking lot was messy with roofing nails on the ground.

We decided to stay here because it had an indoor pool for the grandson. We were in town for a funeral. Our drive was an hour away. I spent $30 more than my son and his family which we had the same rooms next to each other. The people working there were great though. No problems with the staff, just the pool was broken.

This seems to be a common theme for hotels of different chains in Montana, ironically the ones that likely see the most business during the summer months on the way to Yellowstone. I mention this only because it looks like some simple improvement areas and this Days Inn will be more competitive and ready for another busy summer. HoweverI have to give this location a 1 out of 5 due to poor house keeping with sheets not changed on one of the beds and bath tube not cleaned with hair on the walls ad old soap bar, and overall needs updating. The front desk staff were helpful even though the system was down and the indoor pool is out of order. I will likely not stay here again even at this price point mainly because of the house keeping and maintenance issues.
