I came down to visit my father in law which was terrible BUT THIS HOTEL MADE IT WORTH MY TRIP! This hotel is near so many restaurants and cool things to do. Located near downtown but just far enough out of the way.

We had stayed at this hotel just off I-75 in north Knoxville once before but had not been unfortunate enough to have our weekend stay coincide with one of the swingers' group parties held there every few weeks.
We checked in around 5pm and things seemed okay, the staff was fine and the room was adequate as with our first stay there, but by 9pm and increasingly afterward there were people either standing around or roaming the premises in varying degrees of intoxication often loudly shouting to each other, some of the women were walking around half-dressed even for a warm summer evening, a couple of younger men were cruising our floor propositioning women and couples who weren't with children, and at least three of the room doors on our hallway were apparently purposely left open enough to see without trying that people were having sex inside.
Things began quieting down to a more normal state by 2am and we slept okay after that, until people started getting up and noisily heading to their vehicles around 7am and for the next couple of hours - so we finally gave up trying to sleep in and got up to start packing to leave ourselves.
Bottom line, staying at this hotel is generally recommended mostly for the excellent location, but if to be on a Saturday night you might want to check in advance to see if there is a swingers' event scheduled that weekend and be prepared for plenty of noise and disturbance and semi-nudity if so, or stay somewhere else if the idea of that sort of thing bothers you in general.

Best hotel in the entire Knoxville surroundings. Completely brand new . Friendly staff. Beautiful decor. 5 stars to clarion . Lovely lobby. Full bar and breakfast . Very warmly feeling when entering. 5 stars to the owners of this hotel . Impressive jobs on everything . From rooms to flooring and everything inbetween. Will definitely visit here again .

We stayed here with our two small children. The staff were very friendly and helpful and got us into our room early. We loved our little sitting room that allowed us to get the kids to sleep in the bedroom. The indoor pool was awesome. The beds were definitely the best on our 3 week trip. Was also a bonus to be able to walk to some dinner places.

Stayed here for two nights at $69/night in a king room. The room was huge, and the bed top-quality (harder than usual in US motels, almost as hard as we prefer). The overall property has seen better times, but the management clearly has their priorities straight and made sure that the key stuff, like beds, clean & modern bathrooms and a basic modern interior design are taken care of. Also, this Clarion has a large heated indoor pool in which several people can easily swim. It's 10 minutes by car to downtown Knoxville (with unusually easily available free parking) and a few minutes on foot across the street to Starbucks, FullService BBQ and lots of basic restaurants.
