The entire town of Assisi is almost a thousand years old. It is also where San Francesco (St Francis ) and Santa Clara ( St Claire ) once lived. Each of them have churches built in their names. With the former’s remains in a Basilica and the later in its own Chiesa ( church ). These are the main reasons why I came to visit the town.
Luckily, there is more to this town than I had imagined.
The hotel itself is several hundreds years old. The interiors were designed to suit the age of the Building. And to my relief, it has a relatively spacious lift. As this is the second time I am visiting and staying in this hotel, I found out that no two rooms are likely to be the same. Some have shower enclosures, some dont. All have bidets. But most bathrooms have been refurbished.
The bed’s design but to me was firm and comfortable. My room was quiet eventhough it was facing the main road. Almost all of the staff that I met can speak good English, surprisingly.
For recommendations on what to buy where, if available, can be sought from anyone in the Front Desk. Nadia and Milena were very good and very kind to me.
The location is one of the best there is. A half block away from the Piazza which is the Center of town. Shops are to its left, right, across and behind. All are good, some are better. Part of the charm of this town that I have come to enjoy very much.
Admittedly, some of the pieces of Furniture in the room may need to be replaced or refurbished soon but for sure theyll get around to getting them done at some point. I will take them as part of the charm.
Some taxis charged 16 to 19 Euros.

What a great hotel, unbeatable location, super-helpful staff, quality, updated rooms, impeccable service, window views of the city square and courteous, helpful front desk people going out of their way to be of assistance. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

A beautifully placed hotel close to the main piazza. As an historic building the rooms vary in size from floor to floor and front to back but are perfectly adequately fitted and clean. The breakfasts are a good standard and the "bistro" run by the hotel but accessed from the street a few metres from the hotel entrance offered meals with good choice and value. Would gladly stay there again.

Centrally located very comfortable hotel close to one of Assisi's main squares in the historic district, close to several main sites. Staff was very professional. Rooms were lovely. Breakfast was also very good. We were able to drive up to the hotel to drop off our group and bags and hotel staff validates parking to an underground hotel closer to the edge of historic district - 5-7 mn walk from hotel.

I spent with my wife two nights in this hotel:
In general this is a clean hotel with a very good location; the breakfast was good; beteween the receptionists, Ms. Nadia was so kind, helpful and professionual.
However, 2 weakness are to be noted: 1) the air conditioning was very noisy and 2) the noise from outside the room (maybe because the hotel is located in a very busy area).
