A special place

We stayed at this Haveli for 2 nights. It was the last place on our specially tailored trip with the help of Audley Travel to see the culture and wildlife. This is a special place for a short stay in Jaipur. We stayed in Suite 4 which was a palatial double height room. The property has been the home of the family over 5 generations and we were met by Mr Singh and his daughter and given the history. We were also loaned a special book to read about the Maharaja's journey to the coronation in Britain in 1902. The courtyard is a lovely place to relax for dinner or breakfast. The menu is quite limited if you do not choose the Talli menu. The other dishes as we found are small and you need to order at least 2 per person. There is a very entertaining puppet show each evening to enjoy before dinner. This ecofriendly hotel uses solar power and we found there is limited hot water. The rating was close to a 5. The reason it missed that rating was the limited menu and the fact that we were disturbed on both morning by the noisy activity of cleaning/moving furniture in adjacent apartments (we were hopeful NT for a lie-in after a hectic 2weeks)
Delightful hotel with splendid bedrooms

Spacious and well equipped bedrooms- more useable power points than any other place we have been in.
Delightful hosts and staff - nothing was too much trouble.
Only downside was lack of hot water. When we arrived the elderly lady host explained about their green credentials and the solar water heating. One needed to run the hot tap for 5/7 minutes. Sadly that did not produce hot water just about luke warm.
Believing that was all they had by way of hot water we foolishly did not raise the matter until our last evening when the lack of hot water problem was solved!
Despite the “fresh” showers we had a lovely time in the Dera.
Our favourite of 11 hotels we stayed at in India

Please read the reviews below for the wonderful welcome practiced by Mr, Mrs and Ms Singh. Their hospitality was a key reason for our stay being so great.
But it's not just that, it's also the rooms which are amazingly decorated (ours were on two floors!) and had a great Indian feel to them - as they should in an old nobles' palace.
The food was good as was the service. Wifi was good.
The place is well located just outside the old city and does have a city centre feel as you can hear the city around you.
With such great hospitality we throughly enjoyed our three night stay and really recommend this place.
A must to stay

This is a must if travelling in Jaipur, you go from a bust road to a garden and courtyard full of tranquillity and calm, then you are taken into the family drawing room by Mrs Singh who talked about the history of the palace and her and her husbands families, which was so very interesting, she gives such a lovely warm welcome. We stayed for evening meal as we met people in the courtyard who were lovely and we were all so happy on staying at this hotel which really is so authentic even the bedrooms are kept as much as they can to how they have always been. ATh food is delicious and breakfasts are plentiful. All the staff are excellent and cannot do enough for you. This is Jaipur best hidden hotel definitely makes a good and must do stay in Jaipur. Don,t miss this hotel!!

My husband and I arrived at this perfect oasis tucked away behind a busy street in Jaipur. We were met on arrival by its owner, Mr Singh, who eloquently explained a little about the history of the hotel and then engaged us in an interesting discussion about education standards and the attitude of the young. He then took us up to our room - a huge, beautifully furnished and elegant room, fit for royalty. We were completely bowled over and couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel. Very much looking forward to breakfast and dinner in the courtyard and to - what we are assured (by fellow guests) - a wonderful puppet show. Thoroughly recommend
