The room had problems with the heater which would not turn off. The receptionist told that it was by design and we were supposed to keep the windows open. The window however was opening to the internal yard with the staff smoking and the restaurant cooking smells. After my persistent complaints we were given another room, which had no problems with either heater or smoke getting into the windows. It would be a reasonably nice stay otherwise. The rooms are a bit old and the carpet definitely needs replacement, but with the kitchenette area is nicely renovated. Daily room service could be better.

The rooms were a comfortable size included a kitchenette. The staff was helpful. While the location is outside from the centre - it is only a 20 minutish tram ride to the downtown. The onsite restaurant had good food and pleasant service. This hotel while not fancy, certainly has everything that one needs. If in Vienna in the future, I would happy stay at the Franz Joseph again.

This is an average European hotel, nothing special and the room was a bit dated as expected. I was not thrilled with the location as it is not close to anything. There is a tram and bus line nearby though. The reception desk was moderately friendly to rude. Mostly OK, but at least one employee was very unfriendly. Anyway, I would not stay here again, but I have also stayed at far worse places in Europe.

Clean room with balcony and kitchenette, lot of quiet. Rich breakfast with many fruits, delicious coffee. Easy access to parking costs 12 Euro per night. The hotel's location is close to Vienna's attractions.

very good for staying for a short period of time - we stayed before and after flying from/to Vienna, room has everything needed, however no air conditioning (a ventilation unit has been provided however it was still quite hot)
