We stayed at Dilston Mill last weekend. I was there on Thursday with my family for pre-wedding nails and then Friday morning for wedding prep then with my new husband on Friday night!
I had looked for a B n B that would have enough room for 7 adults, 2 kids and a nail technician and Dilston Mill was perfect.
We were downstairs and the room was beautiful, so bright and spacious, I loved the seagrass flooring and the shower was huge (a bath also) and powerful.
Susan is very proud of her home, she lives there too upstairs but you don't hear her or the people staying on the floor above.
The B n B is beautifully cared for with gorgeous features and it's very homely. There is a modern feel about it but still keeping within it's history.
The photos online don't really do it justice.
Susan was welcoming and informative but knew when to let us settle in and did respect our privacy. She was very sweet collecting our breakfast order and asking exactly what we'd like and when.
My sister, husband and 2 kids stayed upstairs and that had an equally lovely feel. Really nicely decorated, light and airy. The kitchen area is really pleasant to be in with great views.
I was thrilled that Susan kept the kitchenettes stocked with cereal, breads of all kinds, jams, honey, milk! Both have fridges which was so handy for our Prosecco and snacks and there were plenty of cups etc. On the 2nd day Susan had left little chocolates which was so sweet.
The breakfast was nice, not too much but then you have all kinds of breads and cereals too. We could have our breakfast brought to us or eat in her kitchen.
Now the grounds out the front....WOW! large enough to have a huge picnic! So beautiful and serene. The kids dipped their feet in the river and we Sat on the grass. It's gorgeous! Perfect for photos on the morning of the wedding and the setting is perfect.
Susan was great about a nail technician being there and my family and Dilston Mill was perfect for us to get ready in. I'm so so glad I came across it.
Susan was easy enough to get in touch with but ringing the B n B was the best route.
This is Susan's home which reflects in the care, effort and energy she puts in to it. It's not a generic B n B which I appreciated.
The car sat nav didn't find it well but Google maps did and there is parking for about 4/5 cars.
Thanks Susan. Very memorable.

Stayed in the ground floor suite for a weekend and loved the place. Plenty of space, large en-suite, clean and tidy and great old building. Susan, the landlady was wonderful and looked after us very well. Served breakfast in our room both days and provided fresh coffee and other snacks in case we were hungry in the day. Just be careful on the lane leading up to the Mill the road is in need of repair.
Sooo Good!!!

Wonderful B&B in a stunning location. We had the upstairs rooms which was just so lovely. Nice comfy bed and a great little sitting room. The gardens were beautiful which adds another nice plus to this B&B. Susan our host was just wonderful , providing us with a great breakfast as well as helping with advice on what to do. The only regret we have is not staying longer!! But we will return and have no hesitation in staying here again.
Beautiful setting and great service

We visited Dilston Mill hoping for a peaceful break from city life and we were not disappointed. Set in stunning countryside with beautiful riverside views from the spacious garden, the B&B was among one of the best we've ever stayed in. Susan and her son Merric were the perfect hosts, delivering a hearty breakfast with meat from the local butchers to us every morning. They catered for all our needs and we will definitely be returning. Next time we hope to catch a glimpse of an otter!

High quality B&B

We stayed at the B&B at Dilston Mill as a family of 5 for a weekend. The setting is beautiful, right by the river with a lovely garden. The rooms were clean, spacious and very well equipped. It was great to have your own small kitchen and these were well stocked with teas, coffee, and biscuits. Susan, the host, was very attentive and provided delicious, substantial breakfasts for us. She went out of the way to ensure that these were vegetarian which was a big plus for us. We know the area well and Dilston Mill is ideally located for access to the Tyne Valley and surrounding countryside. We would highly recommend a stay here.
