My wife and I, together with my mother in law and a cousin have been staying at the Dionysos Hotel from august 29th until sept. 5th.
We met Vassiliki, very good looking young women, at the reception and we were warmly welcomed by her. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable with a good view from the balcony.
Just a couple of hundred metres from village centre and two of the nicest beaches on the Island.
Room was ok, service was not

The hotel is located off the town center of Skala, close to the sea and there is a small pebbled beach halfway to Skala. Not all the rooms have sea views, only the top floor ones, and if you want to avoid a view over the decrepit roof of the hotel in front with its sun boilers, try to book a room at the far end, away from the reception.
The room was on the small side and so was the balcony. The furniture was decent and the kitchenette was equipped with basic facilities. Yet the bathroom was cramped and the light didn't function. We had to go to the reception twice, before anyone came to fix it. As for the cleaning service, nothing to report since the room wasn't cleaned after two days of stay.
NOT WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN!!!!!

Where do I start..?? The Dionysos is not so much an hotel, but an annexe of The Aktion in Skala. We were very disappointed as there is no swimming access directly in front which Dionysos guests are entitled to use. We were directed to the swimming platform that features online, only to find that it belongs to the hotel in front of The Dionysos and the sunbeds are for the use of their own guests. We did go the the Aktion beach - but this was only just about usable as the beach is not maintained, serviced or cleaned at all. It is quite obviously the poor relation in comparison to neighbouring sections. The Oasis's beach next door was pristine in comparison and the guests there had at bed service offered. In contrast, the Aktion beach is littered with weeds, cigarette ends and worse still, dog's muck. We were also disappointed about the breakfast arrangements - there is no proper breakfast room at The Dionysos, so it is served either in your room or on a coffee table in the very small lounge/reception area, which is what we opted for on the 1st morning. What is served is non negotiable - you take it or leave it. We left it for the rest of our stay and bought breakfast ourselves. You do have the option of going to The Aktion for breakfast which we didn't do. As for the room, our Superior Room was quite small, but the bathroom is tiny. The small bath in fact has a step/seat in it and there is no facility to mount the shower on the wall, so guests have to hose themselves down whilst standing in a very small section of the bath. The bracket for the shower head was broken, which I reported on the 1st morning and this was not fixed - we stayed for eight nights!!The bat mat was threadbare. The bed was very uncomfortable and one of the balcony chairs was broken, so we had to use the armchair from inside the room. Wifi was very sporadic, so don't rely on it. In short, not great at all. The cleanliness couldn't be faulted.
We booked only a few weeks before traveling and from what I have heard from other people staying in the area, we were very lucky to find a room in this part of Skala - on the road to Skliri - which is without doubt the best area. However, I don't think we would sacrifice service, ambience and comfort just to be in this area if we were to come to Agistri again, which we would love to do as it is a wonderful island. We would try for Rosey's Little Village or somewhere where we felt valued.
Great location, calm and beautiful

Great location on the island, close enough to the center of Skala (restaurants and beaches), and far enough to have a quiet and calm atmosphere and quiet beaches near by. Beautiful well equipped studio rooms, great view of the sea, and very good service (reception, cleaning, room service). We found that staying in a hotel with no pool is a big plus, it is calm and quiet, and the beach is just a few min walk
The hotel is connected to the Aktaion hotel, which has a great authentic restaurant,
with great and super nice staff!, fresh good food and relaxed happy energy.
Thank you Markela, Andy, Bessy and all the great people of Dionysos and Aktaion hotels, for making our stay so enjoyable!
ANOTHER LOVELY STAY

Another lovely stay at these beautiful apartments with stunning sea views. It was a joy to be looked after by the lovely Katerina who had just arrived to work there, she is friendly helpful and kind. When you visit this paradise island you must stay here.
