Comfortable room

I was pleased when arriving in my room, happy to have free wifi and settle into a spacious, comfortable room. It was overall clean, but had an odd smell in the bathroom (? mold--I didn't see any but...). There was only one helpful staff member and she did an excellent job, but everyone else was relatively mediocre and difficult to communicate with. Also, the breakfast was seriously underwhelming. I couldn't get hot water for tea and nothing was warm. There was no milk provided for cereal (or coffee). It's decent, but be warned.
Wonderful

Very nice hotel. Right downtown and close to the market. All within walking distance. Train station to Rabat only about a 5 min walk. Open air shops within 5 min as well. A decent breakfast included, mostly breads and cheese with coffee and tea. Very helpful staff.
This hotel is likely not to be around in a short time if they don't change their ways

Silly us. We read the reviews but since it was in the right location for us and they said the rooms were spacious, we took it.
So, maintenance and cleaning very low. Everywhere you looked , you found something that should be fixed.
The room is spacious, so is the bathroom, but each time you shower, the water runs from the glass courtain to the floor, making it very dangerous to step out of the bath, so you have to put one of the towels on the floor (there are no towels for the floor like in most normal hotels)
Another issue is the towels- they take the towels from the room when you go down for breakfast, so when you come back- no towels in the room,
Breakfast: search for the salt by yourself (and there is one plastic container turning around the tables), no napkins, tissues or anything to wipe your hands. No water at the table or the buffet. The juice- undrinkable, tastes like better don't touch it. It seems they have a big management problem at the kitchen and dining area, the waiters were there not knowing what to do, till you asked for anything or you got to the counter by yourself.
The biggest of all the problems is the personnel, specially at the reception.
Seems like clients disturb them.
Each time we needed anything we had to wait for the clerk to finish something at the computer or a chat with a colleague.
Example: we wanted to weight the suitcases the night before departure, and the man told me (after I waited for him to finish talking with his friend, standing there by the counter) the weight was in use in the kitchen, and "you can wait 30 minutes" (he decides for us), no joking.
It should have been nice ... IT WASN'T
Stay somewhere else.

Overall very disappointing. Rooms are reasonably large but very tired. Counter staff try hard but are next to useless. Early tour groups eat out the breakfast and staff refuse to clean up or replenish without continual badgering. You will not enjoy the stay.
Hotel Diwan ....more like Hotel Rip-Off

I don't really leave reviews, but I feel it's my duty to warn others on this occasion. This hotel is diffidently not with it's 4 starts. An absolute joke.
It was certainty is not a cheap deal when I booked my week long stay in Casablanca, but I was expecting a nice and comfortable stay in return, instead:
1) On arrival you are not welcomed and taken to your hotel room with a quick introduction on all the things in your room. You are simply given your hotel room key, and told to go up to your room.
2)The toilets are filthy, the bath is clogged up when you take a shower. There are brown mark all around the bath, it's difficult to say if it's dirt or lime scale.
3)The towels are grey and rough, clearly overused for years. Definitely not a 4-star-hotel feel.
4)the managers are the most unhelpful, rude, and speak very little English.
5)Room service is outrageous, be prepared to wait a lifetime if you simply request extra towels.
6)Breakfast buffet is not fresh. It's clear that food from the previous day are displayed again. Also the service is slow, as when the tea, milk, eggs, or any other item run out it's not replaced quick enough. There's not much choice other then diary and carbs!
I could go on with this list for ages.
7)You can't get quality sleep as the you can hear traffic, from the cars that constantly honk at each other.
8)Wi-Fi connection is poor.
When we first checked in, I refused to stay in the room they gave us as the toilet was soo filthy it was not hygienic at all, so they gave me another room instead. As if it was planned, because the receptionist guy had another key ready without question!?
