The hotel is quite good but also quite old. Near downtown Lecco and just in front of the river. It has a parking just in front of the entrance. Rooms are small but clean, sometimes with a little balcony. The staff is very kind.

Nice setting along the river, adequate rooms that are clean and quiet. Staff is good. Really, not much more than standard hotel fare for a local hotel in this area, but the siting is nice. I don't know what would be better in Lecco.

Can't fault the place. I know Lecco quite well now, and Don Abbondio is the hotel with the character. Whilst only a kilometre or so from the centre of town it is in an historic former fishing district, right next to the River Adda with views across to the mountains. There are good amenities nearby, including banks a number of restaurants, or walk into the centre of Lecco along the river. It's my third stay.
Hotel Don Abbondio is not a modern hotel with a high star rating, so perhaps appeals more to your foreign tourist wanting to experience the region and the culture rather than a business traveller. It is family run and I have found the owners to be very helpful; always keen to offer advice on how to enjoy my stay.
Rooms are excellent and well serviced each day. I found the night entrance at the rear of the hotel to be useful. There is a bar and lounge area, and free Wi-Fi.

Beautiful and quiet location. Around 20 minutes to walk to downtown, nice view of the mountains and the lake close by. Friendly and helpful staff. We got a family room for four in the attic and it was new, comfortable and very nice! We all liked it.
Breakfast can be improved, though.

The location is amazing, it is right on the riverbank. Downside is no dedicated hotel parking, just the public spots. Don't park at the workshop nearby as the proprietor gets mad.
The rooms are clean, but show age. Bathrooms are excellent. The hotel has reception open till 11 pm and a night door at the back later.
The owners are nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. The breakfast has a very limited selection of everything and I'd advise you to eat a proper breakfast at the restaurant next door for a marginally bigger price.
