Stayed here recently with my family and good friends of ours from Buenos Aires and there kids. This place is absolutely adorable. Lots of character and located just off the Main Street in colonia and walking distance to old town. You will need to rent a bicycle or golf cart if u wish to head to the beaches or bull fighting arena which is currently under renovation. Breakfast is a great selection of local fare. (Not an American breakfast). The staff are super friendly and go out of there way to be helpful. This place is an absolute must if you goto colonia. Would not stay at large chain hotels which are far from town and really lack the charm that this posada offers. It has a romantic charm that even the kids commented on. Will definitely stay here again.

Two night stay in Feb 2017. Location is great. Breakfast in wonderful. Pool/Courtyard is terrific. Bedroom is amazing. Love the shower! Staff is great. Cobblestone roads. Pleasent views. Close to everything in the small community. A magnificent stay.

The location is perfect and the staff is nice and friendly. Rooms are clean, but the old furniture seemed more likely obsolete than classic. I wasn't lucky with the WiFi as it was very unstable and stalled for long periods of time. Within this price range, breakfast complies to its basic functionality, but again, nothing to mention and I missed hot options like scrambled eggs, bacon and salads.

We stayed for 1 night, it’s a basic hotel, clean with a comfortable bed, good value for the price and a good location (only steps from the historic district).
Breakfast not very memorable – we had 2 bananas but the other offerings didn’t appeal at all. Staff were reasonably helpful without going out of their way to be too friendly. We speak a little Spanish – certainly enough to get by in hotels and restaurants if people speak clearly and slowly – but here some of the staff gave the impression that they couldn’t really be bothered to help us understand. Tourist weary maybe?
Wouldn’t go back – would head straight to Charco Hotel on the river in the heart of the historic district – albeit twice the price! ;-)

My daughter and I only stayed one night but were delighted. It is an old fashioned colonial style house. Excellent location, near everything including the ferry (walking distance) on a shady, quiet street. Most helpful and friendly staff, large airy rooms with comfortable big bathrooms, and excellent varied breakfast with homemade cakes and jams. There is also a garden with pool and deckchairs to relax, plus plenty of cosy nooks and rooms with chairs and tables. Would definitely stay there again!
