Nice value for the money
aldasilva25on 05/07/2017 16:32Nice hotel, well located. A pity there is a abandoned building just next to the hotel. The rooms were ok, the bathroom really small but clean and modern. The shower did not drain the water very well, the showed us another room but it had the same problem..
The internet was free but not working properly, it seems it's not configured correctly. Breakfast was nice and staff friendly.

Better than 3-star tier, good breakfast
tate3441on 23/02/2017 10:04Exceeds expectations as a 3-star rated hotel. Not quite 4-star, but they do a nice job with neat, clean, well-equipped rooms. Material condition is okay, extremely firm bed (too firm for me...typical for Africa and most of Europe).
Excellent location in walking distance to ferry landing and marina.
Safe and secure with a guard at the door (Mindelo seems much safer than Praia). Easy check-in. English-speaking staff.
Good breakfast in a very nice bright and cheery dining room. Breakfast Buffett with Egg soufflé, local chorizo sausage, meats and cheese, numerous fresh pastries, and basic coffee, tea, juice, etc.
Weak wi-Fi/internet, but that is probably due to the national network limitations and not the hotel because the signal was strong, but poor and very slow connections.

Somesunplease78on 26/01/2017 10:41After enjoying a 2-week vacation at Don Paco and now back in cold Europe, we are longing to return to Mindelo and this hotel!
The beds are very comfortable, rooms are clean and have all necessary. The breakfast buffet offers along the standard items also daily 'specials' (we especially enjoyed the baked breakfast goodies- tuna rolls, ham/cheese 'quiche' and cachupa). Lovely lady breakfast chef with always a big smile!
The reception ladies were very helpful and friendly- as were all the staff members we encountered. Housekeeping service was immaculate and professional. We had a happy blue room (#302) on the back side of the hotel with beautiful views over the hills and Mindelo harbour. During busy nights the corridor can be a bit noisy but that was not too much of a nuisance. As everywhere in Cape Verde we encountered, all staff at Don Paco radiated friendliness and helpfulness that made us feel immediately at home and safe. Thank you for the whole team!

Régis Aon 08/01/2017 12:48If you need a modern and clean room in the center of Mindelo, with good services, enormous beds and good breakfast, this is the place to go. Nice and helpful staff. Close to the harbour and the beach.
