As HH member I expected better room, better treatment, especially price I paid. I could have stayed at heaps of other hotels at that price and got better treatment and service. Asked for change of room on several occasions, told hotel fully booked, which was not true for the length of time we were there (6 nights). At 3am every morning noisy people returning, so not sound proofed. Twin room not properly planned - had to get up from bed to turn on/off side table lamp. Single beds too small for adults. Beds never done properly. Dusty throughout, tea cups not properly washed. Hand shower made bathroom area a swimming pool every morning. Big black plastic rubbish bags in corridor, stinking. Have stayed at other Double Tree hotels, but this one is the pits. Only thing going for it is location. Never again.

Wonderful hotel with top notch staff and accommodations. Although we only stayed one night we were treated like royalty. Highly recommend. Location is right in the center of the CBD across from the Railway Station. Great location for walking and sightseeing.

Stayed here for two nights in August. Great business was hotel. Right on Flinders Street way work to the heart of Melbourne. Close to restaurants and shopping. Great breakfast. Good rooms with lovely bathrooms. Couldn't ask for more.

This was a good hotel, clean, good soundproofing, (considering the potentially noisy location), good circulation space and modern decor.
There were the added benefits of a warm cookie on arrival, a tasty buffet breakfast with lots of choice and a convenient but also prompt and tasty bar/restaurant.
Back to the room… as I said there was good circulation space and the modern decor in the room and bathroom made it feel clean. The shower was big and you could roll in so there wasn’t a step to fuss with, the bathroom was big and had plenty of lighting, but my pet hate, no bench space!!
This makes applying or removing makeup, brushing your teeth and styling your hair extremely difficult and for this reason, I can only give a 3/5 at most.

No knowing too much about the area around Flinders Street when I made my arrangements to come to Melbourne, I have to say that the Hilton Double Tree on Flinders Street was a wise choice. It is central to everything and transportation is nearby. It is within a tram free zone so within a certain radius you can travel the trams for free. Outside this radius, you have to use the Myki card. There is a restaurant within the hotel, Fahrenheit 270, which I had breakfast at on three mornings. Although there are places to eat in the area which are more of a fast food nature and cheaper, I opted to have breakfast here. The breakfasts were comprehensive serving scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage, cereals, bircher with condiments, etc. If you did not want your eggs scrambled, they would prepare them for you whichever way you liked. They also had the more English breakfast accompaniments, baked beans, broiled tomatoes, etc. There was Asian congee and condiments as well. Fresh fruit and pastries. They will bring you black coffee; there is milk on the table. There is a juice bar, a coffee machine [cappuccino, espresso, latte] and a toasting station with various breads, spreads and muffins. The room itself was very comfortable, large, the safe worked, full tea and coffee service, ironing board with iron, hair drier,etc. Laundry service were available if needed. Hayden at the front desk was very helpful in checking me in when I arrived as well as setting me up on my tours for the time I was there. A nice touch is that upon check in they give you two large warm cookies. [chocolate chip] The Hilton Doubletree on Flinders Street was very comfortable, the staff accommodating and I would recommend and revisit. It did not disappoint.
