Sharon Don 16/11/2017 14:23This property in Olympia was the best Double Tree in which I have stayed. The staff were wonderful. The bedding was soft and delightful. It is over looking the water near 2 great restaurants and a fun Farmer's Market which was in walking distance.
Quality and Comfort
I7022FSphilson 14/11/2017 21:07First time staying in Olympia en route south with the family. It was a great hotel with fantastic breakfast options in the buffet. The cookies were a great bonus! The location is convienient for walking to the Children's Museum, the Farmers Market, the Capitol, and many restaurants.

Best location in Olympia, nothing special about the rooms, very weak breakfast

Easy walk to all of the restaurants as the best are all on a few blocks centered on 4th and Capital Way and directly across from the marina. I did just read a review from another person about the nearest restaurants were 20 minutes away...no ideal what that person is talking about. On location I would give the place a solid 5.
The reason for the lower rating is the place is just not a Double Tree level hotel. It is a Hampton Inn with a bar. The rooms are OK nothing special with very basic finishes - same with the public spaces. The breakfast is in fact Hampton Inn selections from the buffet with the standard Hampton dried out potatoes, limited selection of fresh fruit, bad biscuits and gravy and right down to the weird pre-made instant omelets (who eats those things?). The only difference is this bad buffet is free at the Hampton but $9.95 here. First Double Tree I have stayed at where you cannot order a breakfast...not sure what the restaurant part is for.
On a completely different subject, the lot location has the best views to the west (marina) and the south (the Capital) so they built the hotel on the east of the lot???? The address, and your GPS, will take you to the east side of the hotel but the parking lot and lobby on on the west. Odd layout - not sure the Architect ever visited the lot prior to construction.
Lovely stay
hectorg185on 29/10/2017 13:14My family and I were in town to move some things back ho so we were looking for a place near downtown to stay. The service at Double Tree in downtown Olympia exceeded all of our expectations. The location was lovely as it was accessible to many of my favorite spots downtown such as Olympia coffee roasters, King Soloman Reef, La Esquinita, Thai Pavillion, and of course the beautiful stretch of Bud Inlet directly across the street perfect for an afternoon walk. The in room service was excellent as well, and our room was kept very clean throughout our five day, four night stay. Would highly recommend for leisure or business.
