On our recent trip to Peru, one of our stops was to Paracas, to see the Islas Ballesteros and the Nazca Lines where we stayed at this hotel unfortunately for only one night. The resort is set by itself in a gorgeous protected bay with flamingos and pelicans roaming the beach and shallow waters of the bay. The checkin experience was professional and efficient. The look and feel of the hotel was wonderful. The room had a very nice view of the beach and was large, well appointed, comfortable and spotless. The staff members, especially the restaurant waiters were friendly and knowledgable. We wished we had booked several nights in this hidden gem. The pools and common areas were first class and well appointed. We will definitely return.
would stay again and again

Beautiful Resort, Nice Staff Little Unorganized and Limited Food Selection

Just got back from 3 weeks travelling across Peru. We ended our trip in Paracas, Peru and stayed at the Hilton Double Tree Resort for 5 days. Overall, mixed experience. Some pros and cons.
PROS:
- Beautiful resort, very clean and modern rooms. The pool area is beautiful and the grounds are kept very well. The rooms are spotless and very modern. The restaurant and beach are also very clean. I'd give them a 5 out of 5 on accommodations.
- Staff, very nice and helpful. - Warning: No one speaks English. One of the floor managers speaks English and he was super helpful and nice. He ended up helping a lot of the staff understand what we were saying which was very nice of him.
CONS:
Bar Service - The staff was very nice but seemed unorganized. I ordered a alcoholic drink from the menu @ the bar. The bar tender had no idea how to make it. It ended up taking about 25 mins and 6 staff members to figure it out. Again, it was a drink from their own menu! - I also ordered a rum and coke the following day, and again... the bar tender had no idea what to do. I ended up telling her exactly how to make it. It felt like the resort just opened days before and they were kind of just winging it as no one knew what was going on.
Food - There is only one restaurant and one menu. The lunch menu is the dinner menu... the breakfast is a mandatory buffet which is great! but the same food every morning. It gets a little boring when you have the same selection of food throughout the day and week. We ended up going off the resort and headed into town to switch up the food. They need to add a bar menu and snack menu. During the day when you just want a snack it's very annoying to have to order a full meal from the dinner menu.
Construction - The week we were there it seemed everything was under construction. The pool bar, front lobby, main dinner area, the main bar, around the pool and others around the hotel. It was a bit annoying hearing drills and tools going all day long. It also limits you on where you can go and what you can do.
Beach Bar - They have an absolute beautiful beach bar. BUT it was never open. We were there for almost a week and not one of the days was it open.
Pricey - This is expected, but the day trips and tours are about 3x the price when going through the Hilton. We ended up going into town (5min drive) and booking sandboarding for about 3x cheaper then the Hilton. I found doing any actives through the Hilton was way to expensive... even renting the bikes were ridiculously expensive. Again, there is a difference between being cheap and smart with your money... if your smart, book your tours in town. They are safe and much cheaper.
Overall, its a gorgeous resort and very clean and modern. I think they just need to re-look the overall customer experience. I would suggest this resort to someone primarily based on the overall accommodations as its really nicely done. The drinks, food and on-site experience needs to be re-looked at by the Hilton management.
Do not recommend this hotel - Bad experience

I stayed with my family at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Paracas, Peru from 27-29 May 2017. The hotel premises are beautiful and it can certainly give you a comfortable feeling about this hotel. However, the service and the food are really bad. My family and I ordered some food, at the time the food was delivered the waitress was very rude. Needless to say that after we eat the food we called several waiters that walked by to pick up the dirty dishes and non-stopped. Instead, the same rude waitress showed up to pick up the dishes at her own pace. We had also ordered some room service where even after calling several times no one came to pick up the dirty dishes from the room so we finally decided to leave the dirty dishes in the hallway and it stayed in the hallway until noon the following day.
I approached the front desk to check out on our last day and the front desk lady (Erika) started to scrutinize our bill and asking question about our maid and asked why was our made exempted from IGV even though our maid didn’t pay any bills. I proceeded to call the hotel manager at the time (Ivan) and explained the whole situation and he said that he would call me back shortly and he never called. I’m certain that we will never go back to this hotel…Not everyone was bad or rude but the bottom-line is that it takes an employee or two to spoil the whole vacation and we are not going to go through that experience again so we are not going back to this hotel.
