It's been several weeks since I stayed at Dove Cottage but I just had to leave a review. Dove Cottage is a beautiful little gem, I stayed here with my Mum and my Partner as it was so conveniently located near to my Brother and his Wife who had recently had a baby and we were over visiting from Ireland. Trevor and Jackie are the best hosts, nothing is too much trouble- it felt like a home away from home- Trevor and Jackie went out of their way to make arrangements for us and I would re-book to stay here again in a heartbeat- in fact my Mum returned several weeks later with my Dad and they had another exemplary stay. Thank you Trevor and Jackie. Kate and Darren x
Excellent accommodation in a beautiful location.

We had a wonderful time at Dove Cottage. Our rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The hosts were very kind and thoughtful. The breakfast was amazing and they even drove us to a wedding venue and collected us at the end of the evening.

Dove Cottage is a truly quaint little place in a rural part of Wiltshire. It's easy to find and there is plenty of free off-road parking. I brought my bike for an event which was stored securely and safely for me.
The owners are very friendly and the whole atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. We were asked what time we'd like breakfast rather than being told it was a set time which was a nice touch.
The cottage is clearly very old and it's very authentic. Our room was super cosy with a very warm duvet and comfortable bed. Despite being so old, we were still provided all the mod cons like a flat screen TV and Bose sound system.
The large private bathroom was very cosy with a nice big sink and bath/shower combo. Not modern by any standard but this wasn't a problem as it wasn't so old and outdated that it made it impractical, it simply adds to the charm.
Breakfast was smoked salmon with scrambled duck eggs and a homemade potato cake. My partner had the full English and we were both very impressed by our tasty meals.
The whole experience was exactly what you'd expect from a cosy cottage in the quintessential English rural countryside but with enough modern touches to make it a very comfortable stay. I'd definitely recommend this B&B to other travellers.
Very good. Nice relaxing place to stay

We always have a great time at Dove Cottage. Cosy and comfortable. A little tip: when you travel there please use Google maps to Dove Cottage. TomTom does not recognise the name of the cottage or even Compton Bassett.
