My room was small with a small tv and fan. There is no A/C but it was comfortable on a 90 degree day. The staff was very helpful and provided info on moderate restaurants and other activities. There is a burger king as soon as you walk out of Hotel and a busy tourist ave also. They room has 2 separate locked doors and a shared bathroom that was very neat and clean.

The accommodation is in great location, just in downtown. The rooms are OK. However I booked and paid for a room with private bathroom and got a room with shared bathroom. When I asked to be moved to the type of room I paid for, I was told that the guesthouse was fully booked. Not going back.

Stayed at the Downtown Guest House in downtown Lisbon for a week. The location is the best possible, next to Rossio square and at walking distance of the Chiado district. Metro and ferry stations are nearby and tram lines are available in the surroundings of the hostel.
The place is up to expectations: clean rooms, good shower and a very forthcoming and gentle care from the people who work at the house. We asked for an extension of our stay and the guys (thanks, Peter!) handled the thing seamlessly so that we could stay on at the same room without having to worry about a change.
In sum, we would easily stay there next time in Lisbon.

Our room was super-tiny but was clean, safe and the location really was fantastic. For 2 out of our 3 nights there, there was a group of students staying on the same floor. They were pretty noisy until about midnight and kind of gave the place more of a 'hostel' feel. But the third night was quiet. If in Lisbon again, I would prefer to stay in an actual hotel...but if the price was really significantly more, then I'd stay at this place again. It wasn't amazing but certainly wasn't terrible. We were there end of May and it was already getting hot, and putting the fan in front of the open window helped in the night. I can't imagine staying here in the summer with no A/C. Free WIFI was great.

I've been there with a friend for three nights and we did like it. even tho we had a shared toilet it was only with an another room. the entrance was pretty small and no lift. but the guy helped us with the luggage. The location is just in the center of lisbon. we totally suggest it for young people or solo travellers :D
