We have visited this hotel before where we thought it was the best hotel in the area. However the current renovations and reduced standard means we will not be returning.
Positives.
The hotel is in a good location and the rooms are nice. Staff are friendly and willing to help. The pool area is relatively large with plenty of sunbeds and excellent wifi throughout the hotel.
Negatives.
Renovations. Firstly there was no notification at check in of the renovations. Though plenty of trip advisor comments. Then listening to a jack hammer all day by the pool is NOT relaxing! I could understand if it was for 30 mins to an hour but from around 1030 to after 1600 is unacceptable and inconsiderate towards the guests.
Buffet lunch. The last time we were here there was an excellent selection of food of high quality. It seems this selection has changed with reduced quality. I tried the steak a couple of nights to see if my first experience was just a one off however each time it was very chewy. The chinese food was always the star in our eyes.
One of our party returned to their room for an afternoon siesta but was unable due to the work taking place in the room next door.
Hopefully after the renovations are completed the standard will return but currently very dissapointing considering the previous high.

I’ve never gone back to the same hotel for a holiday, just in case it wasn’t as good as the first time.
My last visit was so good that I needed to come back here though and I was not disappointed.
In terms of the refurbishment, they are finishing off some rooms but you wouldn’t notice. The restaurant area and all public areas look complete.
The staff were brilliant!! Nothing was too much. The food was brilliant and the weather was great for the 7 days.
I was particularly impressed by the hotel management. I never noticed last time I stayed, but they are always walking round the hotel checking that everything was in good order and speaking to guests.
Special mention to the Restaurant Manager. I liked how he greeted everyone and kept his team on top form.
The refurbished room was fantastic and was much more modern. The new shower was great and if you can, upgrade to the rooms with a jacuzzi đź‘Ť
I hope to be back very soon. Well done.

Just returned from a 5 day break here. The weather was amazing & the resort extremely busy almost like summer months. While certain aspects of the hotel were nice the staff been the main one other aspects weren’t so great. The staff were so helpful & light hearted just what was needed amidst the chaos that was the renovations been carried out. The hotel is currently & from my understanding for the last few months been renovated I’m not sure for the better. They have taken away the perimeters around the bathrooms & made them part of the bedroom with a bath right beside the bed & a almost see through glass door for the toilet & shower. This to me is just unacceptable. Upon speaking with a member of the hotels staff they mentioned some aspects of life need privacy & a bathroom to me is one of them. The staff aren’t equipped to help as they don’t have an alternative apart from another hotel in their group in Playa las America’s (em no thank you) I wouldn’t have booked 5 star to stay in Playa Las America’s. We checked back in August before booking to be certain the renovations would finished & were assured they would be this was not the case as became crystal clear at 8.10am Saturday morning to be awoken by kango hammers outside our windows. The manager upgraded our room to a suite for the inconvenience which had a similar bathroom issue of no separation but had no bath beside the bed as their was a jacuzzi on the balcony. Not very practical with no steps up to it as brought to our attention by a member of staff as it would be lethal when wet. I think the architect & hotel managers need to take a walk around their almost refurbished hotel from the eyes of a guest & not from the what looks appealing in a catalogue. Just from general conversations & some pretty perturbed looking guests they’re seemed to be some very unhappy guests. Too modern can be a hindering not a help. After staying in the Bahia Del Duque in 2015 & Costa Adeje Gran Hotel in 2016 this wasn’t one of the best experiences. Which leads me to my conclusion that maybe 5 star isn’t the way to go but a really good 4 star who in my opinion are more appreciative of the customer & a little more willing to help sort any issues.

We stayed for a week at the end of October as we were advised that most of the work was complete, and indeed it was, there was still work going on in the block by the spa and the spa itself was closed. The new balcony area and roof top bar were not open either. Our refurbished room was very good, and the bed was very comfortable, we loved the new pool area, all new sunbeds, loungers and towels, I think they have done a great job. The restaurant fully reopened on our last couple of days and again it modern, fresh and as always the food was superb. The service is still exceptional, everyone is very friendly and always willing to help if you have a problem. Thanks to Antonio, Ruth, Carlos and Omar as always, and all the other colleagues who do such a great job. I hope the refurbishment will cover the gym, although it is fine it would benefit from some new equipment, a entry system that allows access with your key card. It opens at 9am, but if you want to go in early you have to ask at reception who will open it up. There is a water cooler but it is often empty, this is a 5 Star hotel please sort these finishing touches off, and it really does need some decent air conditioning, it is like an oven. Please bring the gym up to the standard of every thing else. This was our seventh stay, the work that has been done has really made a great hotel even better, we cant wait to come back.......
Absolutely Fantastic

What can we say about our second visit to this wonderful hotel now that the majority of the refurbishments have been done.
Our room(648) a double room overlooking the sea and the resort was lovely with the comfy bed, spa shower and the bath separate from the bedroom and balcony area. We stayed bed and breakfast as we like to eat out every night and the majority of the food was excellent.
The refurbishments have improved your the hotel to another level with the main Pool, infinity pool and jacuzzi all improved and we never had a problem finding a sunbed this year and that was going down about 9:30 every morning. The same facilities are excellent with the shopping centre beneath the hotel for morning paper or a 10 minute walk to the resort for an evening meal. The weather was fantastic and with the majority of the refurbishment done we never had any problems with noise so do not let that put you off.
A Fantastic hotel in a wonderful location near the resort of La Caleta with its fish restaurants and harbour worth a visit. Thank you Gran Tacande we shall hopefully see you next year.
