What People are saying

Disappointed

Vincent R on 14/09/2017 22:56

The wifi was non existant, the pool was only available for 2 hours in the early mornining and 2 hours in the early evening. The hotel was very far from the town centre, the windows don't open and the aircon didnt work. Me and my Wife was booked for 7 days but, we left after the 1st night after switching rooms for a cooler room but still no wifi. I will say the staff was amazing and very helpful in trying to fix the problems without success. Also we were given free breakfast and offered a full refund but, We're waiting on that refund and hoping they will be true to they're word. Fingers crossed

Be wary!

Set beside a petrol station and a budget supermarket , beside rows of communist era housing blocks , this place is certainly run on the cheap . Beware if the overpriced currently 29 Zloty breakfast !!!, exorbitant for a budget hotel in Poland . You can eat at the petrol station or take a ten minute walking via the garages of the concrete housing blocks and a duel carriage way to the tram stop ,( trams are very cheap) , eat in Poznan plaza shopping centre , or ride 4 stops into the city ' getting off at theatre bridge , turning left into Jezyce, ( many cafes and eateries)
One night there was a terrific thunderstorm, and the entire hallway and foyer of the hotel leaked heavily . The group of teenagers and under 25's who try to run the place we're running by around placing buckets , there usual positions of sitting on the nearby terrace, drinking tea and smoking interrupted by the downpour.
The staff don't empty the ashtrays !, this is supposed to be a hotel not a youth hostel !, no room service one day, so ran out of toilet paper , which when you have it, it's so thin your finger goes though at the slightest attempt at abrasion . Better off buying it at the supermarket across another busy trunk road . But quiet and very clean 😹

Cheap but to far from citycenter

If you travel as tourist this hotel is just to far from City center. I was a bit fooled by Google maps as a though this was in Stare Miasto and had to be close. But no.

Hotel is a bit old and not that well maintained. Staff is friendly, but not that many to be seen. Breakfast buffet was really good. And they had free parking.

There is a good hour walk to city center, which i can in fact recommend as it will take you through the nice historic park: Park Cytadela

I can also recommend the steak restaurant at the city square.

Good budget option

Stayed 3-6 June to attend the Jan Nowak Memorial Fencing Competition at one of the University sports halls on the outskirts of the city. Chose this hotel for location close to that venue. Found it a perfectly reasonable budget hotel. We asked for a triple room, got a double with an attached lounge in which they set up the third bed. We were very happy - the lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides with great views across the city. Beds were clean and comfortable, bathroom a decent size and clean, but some of the fittings are getting a little tired looking. The decor generally is due a refresh. Breakfast was typical east European bufet, so not that much Irish and British would think of as breakfast fare, but again, fine for what it is. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening, but took the no 74 in and out of town (really easy - buy tickets in nearby shops first as there aren't always machines on board). It is quite a distance from the old town centre, but the buses come every 10-20 minutes during the day and drop you right on the edge of the pedestrianised area. The pool is a decent size but you have to use it early morning or late evening as it's busy with lessons and classes during the day.
Had no problems with wi-fi like others have reported- that issue must have been addressed. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. All in all, a good option for a short stay, particularly if you're doing something at that side of the city.
