Booked 5 nights here as it was one of the few places in the area that took dogs, staff incredibly welcoming and dog lovers to a man.
Hate to say this but our dog was treated like royalty while us mere humans "well we are servants after all"
Food was good and filling, pity I don't play golf because the course looked a bit of a challenge.
All in all great stay and great value for money.

Stayed in the twin room. The room is of decent size with the usual amenities of a golf resort hotel, spartan, with tv, warm blankets, heater, a nice bathroom with shower/bath. The room is clean and comfortable, but bring along your own pillows as the ones provided was pretty dilapidated.
Breakfast was excellent with many hot food choices, prepared by the excellent in-house cook when ordered.
The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, a good breakaway from the cities. Would love to stay there soon.

Being a frequent traveller to St. Andrews, I usually stay close to the town centre. In September, the golfing weekend coinsided with a busy week in St. A, which opened up for looking around. Drumoig Golf Hotel was a good choice. A good and challenging round of golf included! The hotel represetns excellent value for money. It's reasonable, and you get spacious rooms and great service thrown in. I spent Friday to Monday with a golfing buddy, in a twin room . The room size made that totally OK. The breakfast and choice of cereals was adequat, the choice of cooked meal good, but the actual cooking lacked a bit to give top score (a fried sausage and tomato should show signs of having spent a couple of minutes in a frying pan). Details. A point woth mentioning, because it shows the general level of service to be expected: I cleared out my stuff from the room in a hurry, leaving both a phone charger, a wall socket adaptor and earplugs. A quick email from home confirmed that everything was taken care of. The items were popped in an envelope and sent off. Thank you! All in all - I might still prefer staying in St. Andrews when going there to play golf, but I wouldn't hesitate revisiting Drumoig Golf Hotel again, either.

Last minute decision to visit St Andrews with a young dog and this was the only place I could get booked at a days notice. Hotel is about 15 minutes drive from St Andrews so you would need a car to get here. The hotel has a number of cabin style buildings with each having about 6 individual rooms and reception only few minutes walk away. I had a twin room which was clean and spacious though a bit cool in the evening when i asked about turning the heaters on I was told there was underfloor heating but it didn't feel like that was on - though I do suffer from the cold weather so it may just have been me. Bathroom was good size. TV, wifi, kettle and hairdryer within room. There was lovely views over the golf course - I don't play so can't make much other comment about the course. I didn't eat at the hotel but the staff were very friendly and gave warm welcome to me and the pup who got lots of cuddles from them all. No problems at all at the hotel and it was exactly as advertised - would stay here again.
I'd make a couple of suggestions though for future consideration to improve overall experience of guests:-
- leave instructions in room for wifi, shower and heating - I forgot to ask the wifi password on check in and had to return to reception to get it as no phone in room to contact reception Bit lazy to suggest this I know but it does make life easier.
- consider putting fridges in the room - as someone who was site seeing in area for a few days I like to keep some snacks for lunch in a fridge as well as some chicken for the pup.
- consider a vending machine at reception as there are no shops nearby and some access to snacks/drinks via a vending machine would be convenient for guests and hopefully make a profit for the hotel.
Not essentials but just a few things that would improve overall experience.

We spent 5 days here and it was great. The rooms are spacious with a great view of the golf course. Huge bathroom, very clean, extremely friendly staff and great food at the restaurant. Many thanks to Valerie and her staff for an excellent stay. This facility is located 15 minutes from St Andrews so a car is required but worth the distance. The golf course is very hilly which is a change from the flat courses at St Andrews links but it is quite challenging with great view points.
