Very noisy room #115

This hotel is dated but clean and warm, the staff all seem to be nice and friendly, very good deals on prices....
We arrived late and were put in a back room #115 we noticed the floor was very creaky but the room is a decent size, clean and the bed comfy and again clean...
We could hear the trains going up and down and as the windows were closed this didn’t really bother us,
However in the night a trip to the loo proved to be quite a trial, the flush was soooooo noisy and went on for minutes 😲😲 it must have woke half the hotel ...
Then early hours the trains started and each announcement seem to get louder and louder, NO chance of a lye in!!!!!
Shower was not even Luke warm to be fair....
Breakfast was just ok, average, not as good as some Best Western hotels we stay at!
So, do try this hotel as it’s clean and affordable, in a handy area for the train station, but don’t have a room at the back and certainly NOT #115.....
Very unsuitable

I booked via Booking.com and checked that they were pet friendly prior to proceeding. I arrived late at night after driving from Dover to find that they did not allow dogs - not even little ones! The site said they did. After much checking the 3 reception staff on duty agreed with what I found on the website- but couldn't allow us to stay. Crazy and nonsensical!! I will never visit this area again. Not good experience 😞
Rooms a bit tired

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Overall too expensive as the room rate was £100' I would rate it at £65 max.No bedside lamp, broken door security chain, old carpets and furniture. Bathroom was in good order and the bed was comfortable. Staff are nice and a good breakfast. Ok for a one night stay.
Weekend trip

We stayed Friday and Saturday evenings with a coach trip. Many complained their rooms were too hot but our was too COLD. We had to ask for extra heating as all they had left us was a 12" square oil fitted radiator as the one behind the heating grills did not work. It was freshly decorated, with a refitted bathroom but the bed was far too soft and the furniture dark and a little tired. There was not a lot of choice for the evening meal but it was hot and tasty. The breakfast as not so good, it had been cooked and you served yourself from hot counters, but the bacon and egg I chose was only Luke warm. Coffee and tea was not served after the evening meal although you could buy it from the bar near reception. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were not troubled by train noise and our room overlooked the line passing near by.

Just back from weekend here. I stayed in room 101 which backed onto railway so was quire noisy.Room was very hot as they had problems with heating! Staff very nice but didn't think much of breakfasts as luke warm and toast was either half done or burnt as very slow toaster.Dinner not too good first night but 2nd night was lovely. Room was large and bed very comfy but very high up!
