Great Little Hotel!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely little Hotel.
Parking is free, either outside or small car park at rear.
Check in was friendly and quick. The owners were very nice!
We had a room on the first floor at the back overlooking the stunning church. Room was fairly small but suited us fine, with a large bathroom. The TV had French channels only which was a little disappointing to us but not a huge problem as we were out most of the time.
The breakfast room was nicely decorated and bright. Good food. basket of French baguette and croissants on table , cheese, ham, yoghurts, cake, crepes all available as well as coffee and tea. Good substantial breakfast.
Highly recommended!
Lovely hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay here while in Caen. Clean, quiet, very nice and accommodating owners, and great breakfasts really added to our experience. The only thing missing was an elevator and unlimited wifi. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel du Havre is a fantastic hotel! My wife and I stayed four nights in room 12. It was a very large room and quite comfortable.
The room itself was very clean and we'll maintained. Also, it was cleaned daily by the staff and the bed made. It was one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in.
The couple that ran the hotel was very friendly. They both spoke enough English for those of us that never learned French to easily be able to communicate.
We booked the room through a third party party site which meant that our wifi access was limited to three hours per day. Also, the parking behind the hotel is for direct bookings only, but we were able to find parking in the front almost every time. The parking on the street is free at night until 9:30. So for those little reasons you may want to direct book.
Upon arriving we were asked if we would like breakfast for 8€ per person, so we chose to try it the first day and decide on the other days after. The breakfast was good with choice of cereals, breads w/toaster and jams, pancakes, fruit, meat and cheese, and often cake or brownies. To drink they offered coffee, apple and orange juice, milk, and tea. It was a pretty good breakfast so we decided to have breakfast there each morning.
It may be worth noting that there is no air conditioning, which is not necessary most days, but if you come in the summer during a heat wave it could be uncomfortable especially if you are used to having A/C.
The location of the hotel is easily within walking distance of the castle, the major shopping and dining areas and the train/bus station.
Do be mindful that reception closes overnight. I believe it's closed from 22:00 to 7:00.
Overall we were extremely satisfied with our stay at this hotel and would stay there again.
Great little hotel, close to everything

A friendly little hotel in Caen, near to the town centre, clean and tidy for a reasonable daily rate. Watch out as there is no lift so lots of stairs. Only breakfast served at the hotel but there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance.
Just a place to sleep.

It was a room and that was about it. They upgraded us to a three person room, but told us not to do ANYTHING to the second bed. There were a lot of rules, couldn't eat in the room, couldn't put luggage on the bed (there wasn't a lot of room on the floor either for luggage). Wifi was sketchy at best and limited. The bathroom didn't allow for a lot of privacy. My sheets had a stain on them which we discovered after reception was closed. Something, probably a spider, bit me in the middle of the night.
Good points, they did hold our luggage for us before and after check-in and out. We had booked through their website, so we avoided the 5 Euro charge for this.
