If you are ever in London. Stay at the Dukes Hotel. Eat at their restaurant GBR. Great service. Awesome food. Friendly and helpful staff all around.
Reasonable size of a hotel room and bathroom, considering you are in Europe. Very clean. Towels smell and feel so good. Great location.
Family of 3 adult who are world travellers!

Tasteful, traditional, serene -- that is what I think of when I think of Dukes. An elegant place in an elegant setting. So soothing to come back to this peaceful oasis after a tough day of sightseeing. Naturally the rooms are on the diminutive side in this older hotel; if you want big rooms in a place that could be anywhere in the world, with hordes coming in and out of the lobby at all hours, maybe this is not the hotel for you. But if you want the classic ambiance of St. James and the grace that comes from years of topnotch service, you would do well to make Dukes your home in London.

I always loved the location if this hotel: tucked away like a secret in busy Mayfair. We had never stayed so I was super excited.
We did not have a bad stay, far from, but Hotel didn't waw me. It is like many other city hotels I have stayed at.
Firstly the positives
Staff: reception and concierge were lovely. Warm greeting. Easy check in. I felt very welcome
Location: perfect. So central yet fairy quiet
Bed: very comfortable
Bathroom: nice big bathroom with nice products
Breakfast: table service. Lots of choice. Good quality
The not so good
Room: we stayed in room 317, a junior suite. Size was good but room was bare, uncozy. No colour, no warmth to it. The little lounge area needed a comfy armchair. As it is, it looks like an empty space
Coffee in room: nice to have a coffee maker but machine ( not a Nespresso) did not work well and only tiny cups were provided.
Bar: you need to book a table at bar. It was busy and loud. Service was slow and not over friendly. Not the lovely bar experience of a luxury hotel.
Overall we had a good stay but I did not fall in love with Dukes as I had thought I would.

My wife and i stayed at this hotel as it was very close to the celebration venue which was our reason for staying overnight in London. I had requested a disabled room which was excellent. The room was also very quiet which is a plus for a hotel in Central London.

Unless you are looking for Britishness in your stay in London with associated small rooms (small means matchbox size room) mediocre and snobbish service, look elsewhere.
During our stay, one of the two elevators was not working, we had to go to 5th floor to access the 4th floor, our room was so tiny it was claustrophobic, we moved to a bigger room (which means normal size room) by paying a premium. Internet access is very very slow, messages only. Forget pictures, videos or any serious business work associated with downloading files. Lastly, THE BAR...you need to book to get a table and staff have an attitude.
The hotel belongs to the relics of the empire. It is great if your are nostalgic of tiny corridors, creeking floors, tiny rooms and sub par service. Interesting as my English friends would say. Which means mediocre. They are much better choices in London. Leave it to the nostalgics.
