callumwallon 19/05/2016 18:02Stayed here for mates stag do 10 of us in total, as soon as we arrived we were welcomed like family we were told all the things we needed eg fire drills ect then shown to our rooms,rooms were basic with teas and coffee s but they were very clean, shared bathrooms again very clean and perfect for the amount of time we would be in them. The bar downstairs again very clean staff were friendly and helpful after going round the pubs for our night out we came back to the dun horse to find great atmosphere karaoke followed by a dj she was funny and played some good music a wide range for everyone while getting croud going open until 3 we really enjoyed it door men we friendly and there to help overall would recommend the new owners we brilliant very warm and helpful and the breakfast in morning hit the spot cerial and toast followed by a proper full English ! definitely the place to stay in kendal 10/10

I'm sure if you are in the disco it is fine but upstairs the whole place shakes and sleep is not a possibility even using ear plugs.
The make sure you are drunk advice might have helped had we read it before trying to sleep.

Drunks up fire escape, banging on windows ,, 4 bouncers couldnt cope, mass fights trouble !!! 0/10, !!! would give minuses if possible !!! If u value your life, !!! dont stay here !!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BED AND BREAKFAST
barbara bon 02/09/2014 14:10I booked into the Dun horse on Friday 29th August 2014 for 3 nights my first impressions are a dark dingy wee bar, I thought it would be ok so stupidly handed over my money to stay there I got put into a single room no bigger than 6ftx6ft with no windows it was terrible. Then came the best bit trying to sleep with the bloody music from the bar playing until 3am hense to say even ear plugs don't work. I seriously don't know how this place can be a bed and breakfast and really shouldn't be one its clearly a bar/nightclub and should remain that way.
There will be somewhere better
PeterM Lon 29/06/2014 23:51Very basic accommodation, and that is fair enough considering the low price. What, however, should rule it out is that (at least on the Friday and Saturday I was there) it was impossible to get to sleep before about 3 a.m. because of the noise of people leaving the pub.
