A very nice hotel
heeleyfoxon 16/07/2017 18:24The Dune Hotel is in a ideal location just across the road from the vast beach. It also has a large swimming pool with plenty of sun beds. We stayed two nights as part of our "tour of Italy" and found it very relaxing. We had a room with large balcony with a pool view. The bedroom was quite spacoius and clean. Although the room could do with a lick of paint and the decour improving.
We did not eat in the hotel but there is large selection of bars and restaurants along the sea front. There was also free open air car parking in a secure area at the rear of the hotel.
Average Hotel
Swedestreeton 02/09/2016 18:32Stayed here for ond week in the middle of July 2016. The interior and room are outdated and need really to be refreshed. Price ok but expensive for extra bed for 5 year old son 220€ extra for one week for him is not any good deal! We paid 800 € for the room w breakfast incl.
Pool area was nice. Breakfast simple and many times there were out of supplies like bred and other things.
All in all would not come back again.
Great staff
salizo08on 23/07/2016 22:00Stayed in this hotel for a week and my 1st impression was it wasn't a 4* hotel the room we were allocated was not the standard I expect so I asked for an upgrade after a bit of juggling the receptionist did change the room which was fine although I think the rooms in the hotel do need some attention to reach 4* status. The director did inform us that it is work in progress and the hotel is going through a big overhaul which you can see by the property outside
The grounds to this hotel are exceptional especially if your the sporty type. Great swimming pool tennis courts and football facilities.
The staff at the hotel made our stay a lovely experience especially On reception they couldn't have been more helpful
We did half board and the breakfasts were good. The evening meal didn't have the variety I expect from an Italian hotel no salad bar or sweet trolley and the menus hardly changed, not enough staff so be prepared for a long wait between courses although they were again very friendly hopefully this will change in the near future. I did suggest to the director that a shuttle service to and from the hotel would be beneficial to them and customers as you need to change buses at viarregio or a taxi which is expensive to Pisa airport
The hotel is near to the beach which was clean and has this amazing promenade withe lots of restaurants and entertainment
Overall my 1st impression of this hotel was so wrong and can't wait to tell people about my lovely holiday
Pleasant and enjoyable 2 night stay
Richard Michael Don 28/06/2016 13:08Pleasant friendly large hotel with views of the sea. Comfortable good sized room with adequate en suite bathroom. Clean, crisp linen and towels and air conditioning. Also a large balcony overlooking the pool area and with a view of the sea. Wifi readily available with good strength. Good, safe parking and generally clean and tidy everywhere. We enjoyed our couple on nights and will certainly come again when next in Lido.
Beware of Hotel "Doom"
TaeandJakeon 24/08/2014 21:17My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and nicknamed it "Hotel Doom" after the first day. Had the hotel been classified as 2 stars instead of 4 (and the room rate not nearly the price we paid) we might review the hotel differently. The outside appearance of the hotel is in really poor condition with overgrown weeds surrounding the grounds, cracked stucco, mis-colored paint, and trash strewn about. The lobby was nice with a very nice woman that checked us in (perhaps the only saving grace of the hotel). The room itself was pitiful. The first night, our bathroom sink wouldn't drain, there was a missing plank in the ceiling that showed electrical wires, and we were woken up at midnight by the air conditioner that began to heavily drip water from the ceiling onto the floor. The associate on duty moved us to another room, properly functioning, but in the same aesthetic condition. This included cracks in the ceiling, wallpaper peeling off every wall in the room, black mold in the shower, bath towels that were shredded and frayed on the ends, and cracks in the tiled floor of the bathroom. On top of those details, there was no hot water to shower in the evenings, the wifi worked on occasion, and the phone in the room wouldn't work to make a local call. (These 2 phone and wifi wouldn't have been an issue, if everything else wasn't such a dump and we hadn't payed the exorbitant amount that we did.) The only positive feedback about the hotel was the location and the one woman that worked the front desk. I still have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars attached to it's signage. What a joke!
