Spent a very pleasant hour and a half here today. We were out with friends and stopped for lunch and it was fantastic.
We got a table even though it was quite busy. The lady told us there may be a short wait for our food due to being busy but we were not in a rush!
The menu is good, lots of choices - would think there would be something to suit everyone. I had the steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes and it was delicious. My friend also had the same but with chips. We had a fish and chips and a Cajun chicken burger both with chips and there were four empty plates. The bill with 6 soft drinks was £53.50. We thought that was good - the food really was excellent. Even though we had been warned of a wait it really was quite quick considering how busy they were. Dessert menu looked good but unfortunately we were too full..
Lovely setting right at the harbour, beer garden if you wanted to sit outside, friendly staff. Definitely will return!!
Good food yet again

My wife and young son had dinner some 4 years after our first visit which was excellent. This year, it didn’t disappoint. The staff were ever so friendly, and accommodating.
The selection of beer was ok, and my wife had a lovely red wine.
The chicken en croute was delicious!!!! Well cooked and flavoursome. My wife had mince and dougballs, again, very nice indeed. Our son ordered the child’s burger which didn’t touch the sides. It was clearly homemade and he loved it.
My wife took on the trifle and won, which was a pure feat in itself!!
We will definitely come back next time in Ayrshire.
Expected better!

Ordered seafood platter, which you would expect to be fresh as you can almost jump out the window into the sea, which was pretty awful. The prawns looked like they were from a packet from Tesco the rest of it pretty tasteless and also out of a packet. Normal sort of service and the starter and beers were ok.
Good Beer, excellent food

We have just stayed next to the Dunure Inn for a week. We went every night for a few beers and twice had food. Both meals were top notch. They even had treats for our pooch. Tracy the bar lady was super friendly.
