Motel under new ownership. They are working hated to renovate the motel. Our room had a whirlpool tub & gas fireplace. Any problems were quickly addressed. Inadequate hot water, which they are working to fix.

The check-in was quick and efficient, very friendly and was happy to provide information on the surrounding area. Even gave us directions on our return trip that saved us time. The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. They had a free continental breakfast which was ok but also offered a paid breakfast that was really good and inexpensive! We will stay there again.
Found a bed bug!

We just recently stayed here and had reservations for two nights. The room is average and bed is comfortable. People are very friendly and accommodating. However, we cut our stay short after finding a bed bug in the morning after our first night.
I gathered the bug up and brought it to the management. At first they tried assuring me that they all took a class on identifying and checking for bed bugs, they denied that it was a bed bug. In fact, they were quite adamant that it wasn't one. A quick search of the internet confirmed that it was indeed a bed bug. (It was also confirmed further after I submitted a picture to a pest control technician). Management, along with cleaning staff, came to the room and checked the mattress and then stated that there were no more bugs in the room. This was concerning to me since I know those bugs could hide anywhere in the room and not just the mattress. If they had taken a class, they should have known this.
At first, I was very satisfied with how they handled the situation...they refunded my money and assured me they would be contacting a professional to both check and exterminate the bugs if more were found. I asked them to notify me about the conclusion from the professional. I wanted to know if it was a small or large infestation. They assured me they would call.
Today, I contacted them asking what the professional had to say. The manager told me that he wouldn't tell me, that it was "confidential" and that I should understand how "sensitive" the matter of having bugs in the hotel was. He then told me NOT to call again because he would give me no information.
While they acted quickly in the beginning, I am very disappointed in their final handling of this situation. I question whether or not they contacted a professional to take care of the bugs and just relied on their staff to take care of the problem. I worry that since they couldn't even identify a bed bug, they wouldn't be able to do a proper job of ridding the hotel of them.
OTTAWA RIVER FLOOD VICTIMS

We knew we were going to have to evacuate and checked out local accommodations the day before. We choose Econo Lodge Pembroke as it accommodated our dog and had spacious rooms which has made our stay of almost 3+ weeks one of the only stress-less problems in our lives.
The room was great and gave us lots of room for our wee dog and we had a room next to my elderly father. It was suggested we take a 2x queen room so the dog would feel comfortable in a larger room and give us more space. Thank you, for this suggestion.
Rooms were very clean, towels changed almost daily--even w/o being asked.
The new owners (as of May 2017) are very busy upgrading the rooms and the exterior and are doing a wonderful job of doing this.
Will more then likely be staying here again when we get the foam sprayed in our home.
Thank you for making us feel welcomed

Stayed at this location because they are pet friendly. Arrived around 6 pm. No one manning the reception. Had to use a telephone at the reception to get help. Check in took forever, even thought we had previously booked and paid.
I told the receptionist that we would like a pet friendly room. It seemed to surprise him, even though it was definitely listed as a pet friendly hotel. He said there was no mention that we needed a pet friendly room, but none of the bookable rooms online stated pet friendly or not, so i selected a king size room. This confused him and took quite some time to enter into the system. The receptionist then tried to offer me a room with two queen beds. I said I wanted a king room as reserved, but he tried again to convince me to have two queen beds. I am sure that this was because my husband looks quite young for his age and the receptionist rudely assumed that we weren't husband and wife.
The room itself was clean and in reasonable condition. There was a corridor that lead to our room, but the window for the room also faced this corridor, so the curtains had to be shut all the time so that passers didn't have full view of us in our room. The corridor was fully lit all through the night, which illuminated the room all night long and made it difficult to sleep. The bed was extremely firm and the pillows extremely soft, so both made it very hard to sleep. It was very close to the feeling of sleeping on the floor.
The housekeeping staff were very pleasant, and chatted very nicely for a bit when she saw our dog.
We never eat the free breakfast served at choice hotels - the food quality isn't all that good and since we like to sleep in till a little, it's always over sooner than we would like, so we go somewhere else for breakfast where we don't feel rushed.
All in all, this was budget accommodation, a bit dated with old style bedding, not very comfortable, but easy enough to find and located where we needed to be. Probably won't stay again.
