The beds were springy and not comfortable. Cheap covers that did not match on the small full sized beds. 3 Roaches were in the room. Tub and wall had peeling paint . Bathroom was tiny tiny tiny. Had refrigerator but no microwave. I've stayed in budget hotels before but never one this bad.

Reserved 2 rooms at this hotel for 1 night during Mardi Gras weekend because it was the most affordable and closest to the French Quarter. Check in was unorganized and they could not find my Expedia reservation for 1 of the rooms even though they were booked at the same time and paid for. They gave us rooms on completely opposite sides of the hotel from each other but we did not want to draw out an already painfully slow check in. There was only 1 elevator for a very large property and it seemed to be missing a roof. The first room we got smelled of cigarettes and was freezing cold because the air conditioner was on full Arctic blast. Strange because temperatures were in the 40's. We finally managed to stop the air conditioner but the heater would not work. The tv also did not work. When I called the front desk I was put on hold then hung up on. After a few call backs they said to come down and get the keys to a new room. 3 flights of stairs with heavy luggage later we get new keys. The scene at check in was now a madhouse with many upset people being told they could not find their reservation. 2nd room was better, smelled of bleach instead of cigarettes and everything worked. The pool was covered with a dirty tarp and everything on the property just seemed to be in a state of disrepair. Also this is no longer called the Econo Lodge...the sign on the building says Days Inn. Very confusing and uncomfortable stay.

This hotel was a real dump. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. The room was dry during a rain storm. That's about all the good I can mention. Our room was way in the back of the hotel and had no phone to call the front desk. We had to walk to the front every time we needed something like towels and to make bookings for a shuttle. Not that we mind walking, but it was dark and raining. Never stay here.

I had such horrible experiences during my stay at this hotel. First, upon checking in I received very poor service from the staff. She even checked me into a room that was not cleaned yet. I asked for a non-smoking room, but it smelled like smoke and other oders. There was no phone or t.v. remote in the room. The smoke detector was alarmed upon my arrival from an outing. I stayed several nights, but upon each day I re-entered, the room was not cleaned. I had to request for new towels. Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations and I will definitely not returning to it.

We arrived on Tuesday 28 July and got ground floor as we asked for. The refrigerator wasn't working and we had no wash cloths. We need the fridge to keep my wife's "meds" cold as required. They replaced the fridge and brought wash cloths. 2 hours later, the fridge was still a joke. In comes #3, which proved okay. We did our "thing Wednesday" sightseeing, etc. Heavy rain in area; my wife joked we were on the bottom floor with 2 above and can't get wet??? WRONG!!!! We came in and the bath area was soaked with water still coming in from the ceiling.!!!
Went down to desk and the desk person said: Well it's raining", I said there are 2 floors above us!! What?? We were moved to another room and ; no hand towels!!! The person helped us got them. Again what a joke!! We came back Thursday evening and the room had not been serviced!! Back to the office and I said enough is enough. They refunded partial and we checked out Saturday instead of Monday. Screwed our vacation!! STAY AWAY!! The place has a new management company who is working?? Restaurant/ bar was closed! the morning after the "big rain" the breakfast area was under water. The pool was unbearable because of the folks using it; rowdy, uncontrollable, etc.
