I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for. Definitely one of the cheapest places in town. I stayed here because my first choice (the nearby Comfort Inn) was fully booked. They're in the same chain so the rooms are pretty similar in layout and style as is the hotel itself. However it's quite apparent that the Econo lodge is definitely a step down. The bed had a bit of a sag in the middle, the breakfast was nothing special, and the bathroom was meh. The person who checked me in also didn't want to speak English to me until I asked twice (I do speak some French but not very well). There was also no outlet near the bed for me to plug in my phone or laptop so I had to unplug the alarm clock.
However the Wi-Fi was fast, so I guess there is that.

This hotel was okay for the price. But what I found disappointing was the lack of care in the breakfast which was bland and cheap. Toaster broken. No bagels, danishes, or muffins. Only cereal and white bread. No fruit or yogourt. Young man at front desk next morning friendly. Only thing is he didn't have a good business attire. Wore a shirt that had stains. He didn't have a uniform and wore a shirt that was stained. All in all, I don't think I'll be returning to this Choice hotel.

I am a Choice Rewards member and always try to reserve a Choice hotel so booked this Econo Lodge several months ago. We just needed a place to sleep as we had a flight at 6 a.m. the next day. A few days prior to our arrival date we received a "looking forward to your visit" email from the Econo Lodge. However...when we arrived in early afternoon we were greeted by picketers at the entrance and a sign on the door that said the hotel was closed indefinitely due to a strike by staff. A man who came to the door told us they had been closed for the past month! Fortunately we still had our rental car and it was early enough in the day that we were able to find a good room at the Howard Johnson next door but I shudder to think how it would have been if we had arrived by cab after dropping off our rental car, and had to walk around the area on a cold dark night hauling our luggage and trying to find other accommodation. There was no phone call or email in advance to indicate that the place was not open. My advice: book elsewhere. If you cannot do that, be sure to phone ahead and hope the place will be open.

We had trouble with the credit card because we failed to inform the bank we were crossing the borders. The staff was rude because she probably thought our cards were declined because we were not good creditors. The layout of the building is like a maze. The makeshift breakfast areas were 2 rooms opened up but were still cramped. If there's no seat, you have to go to the lobby where they set up a couple of chairs and tables. The juice tasted like water. If we got these "perks" but it was cheap, it would have been okay; but it was unreasonably expensive and not even close to downtown.

When we arrived we found out that under new owner this hotel is no longer a pet friendly hotel as we have 2 little dogs. Since I booked before the new owners took over they let us stay, lucky it was just for 1 night. The room itself was ok.
