My wife and I were on a one month holiday to Canada and Victoria was a must. The hotel was being renovated but the room we had hadn't been touched yet. One of the main problem for us was our room faced a really busy intersection and traffic was quite busy and started about 6.30 to 7.00am every morning. Plus the air con was noisy and was switched off then the room got really hot, then couldn't sleep. All in all the 2 nights we stayed there we didn't sleep well. The breakfasts were standard and having coffee outside next to the lake was really tranquil. Basically you pay for what you get.

Stayed there Sept 27, 2017. Have stayed there several times. It was good value 'before' this last stay, but they are renovating so hoping to stay there again in the future.
We liked the mattresses!! They are firmer than pillow top but better for your posture, was a plus for me, pillow tops break down and do not leave a flat bed. I hope they don’t put pillow tops in when they renovate. Or at least leave a few firmer beds for those that like them and find it hard to find them in accommodations.
The room needed serious updating. But the room was ok for a night.
A plus for staying there is the walk on the gorge, very close by, a walk across a small bridge and you are there. Beautiful walk!!!!!
My biggest complaint was the smoke smell.......might have come from lady smoking below us, outside. They aren’t suppose to do that but saw others doing the same. The lady looked unwell so didn’t want to complain, so to be fair to the motel manager, we did not tell the office girl so we can’t complain. But hope they start enforcing their no smoking within a certain distance rule. There is a green grass/picnic table for that.
Breakfast included in price.
They are updating on the exterior, hope the rooms will be done too. If so, we will go back there!

Stayed there because it was the only reasonably priced hotel close to Langford. Was there for a funeral tried to check in early at noon to get ready after traveling . Was told no I told her at the front desk that bit was inconvenient. I think the girl was more interested in going outside to smoke with friends than changing rooms. Our room was on the noisy side of the street and I can't believe that it was full the previous night.

The building is quite old, some updating has been done but even some of the updated fixtures are old, the tub didn't drain well while showering so we ended up standing in several inches of water. On the other hand the suite was quite spacious, extremely clean for the age and well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is right on the Gorge and quiet even though it appears to be a fairly busy intersection. Continental breakfast is limited in variety but well stocked. We would definitely stay here again as we are budget conscious.

Really enjoyed our stay in the two bedroom suite. We found the facilities clean in spite of renovations and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids loved the pool! Great selection for the complimentary breakfast as well, all items were fresh and delicious.
If you expect high end facilities and modern decor - book downtown Victoria. If you are fine with basic amenities and a short drive to downtown, this is a great option! We would stay here again and will recommend to our friends.
