The sign on the office door says to leave a review, so here it is.
We checked in to room 103 last night. The curtain liner in the front window had what we initially thought was mold, but quickly discovered was actually holes. Pillow cases and towels had holes and stains. The sign out front says "Free breakfast", but we had to ring the bell multiple times just to check out at 8:00 am. My wife's sleep was interrupted several times during the night by a mouse in the room. When the owner finally did answer the door this morning she tried to blame my wife for the mouse problem. She said we could have called to report the presence of the mouse and they would have changed our room, but if it's this difficult to get them to answer the door so we can check out at 8:00 am, what makes us believe they'd change our room at 3:30 am? If I could give zero rating or even a negative number I most certainly would. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

This is now CALHAN INN, no longer EconoLodge. MOUSE in room, owner didn't care. No free breakfast. Front desk and breakfast room locked at 830am. Well it gets better. Went to office to check out and report mouse incident. Door locked at 830am. No "free breakfast". Rang the doorbell, as posted. No one came out. Took some exterior photos, chatted with another guest. Told him the tale. Went back to office, rang bell several times, finally the owner/front desk opened the door... in her ratty pajamas, no shoes, like I dared to wake her attitude. She blamed me for not calling to request room change, and I told her it was 3am when I first suspected mouse in room, but didn't actually see it til 630am. She didn't care, and would not issue refund. I asked about free breakfast, she said she'd go make me breakfast, really? I told her I didn't want anything from her dirty mouse infested motel. Also told her I'd be calling the Dept of Health and everyone I could to have this crappy motel hell inspected. I will be posting this story on every social media site I can. Her attitude was awful, even last night at checkin..... WORST motel on the planet. It could have ended peacefully with a REFUND. Just so you know, dispute with credit card will issue REFUND due to goods/services paid but not rendered and health hazard mice. Just unbelievable!

We stayed here while heading south to N. Mexico after a long day. They tried to charge us more, fair bit more than on the web site but yielded after threatening to leave. We were the only ones there. Appears to be hanging on by a thread. Room was worn and the bathroom contained extraneous hairs on the floor, fair few. Continental breakfast was poor.

This is the only place to stay if not in an rv.
We had a handicap accessible room. For most part it was clean. I'd like the shower a little cleaner.
Beds are hard (we like that but others we were working with didn't).
Towels are clean just some have rust spots on them.
Breakfast is simple: bagels, toast, honey buns, cereal and yogurt. Starts at 7 am.

Wow! Tired and hungry pretty much our only choice until Limon. Got checked in and unloaded the car. Found that the refrigerator had been left partly open while running. Water everywhere. So, they gave us a different room. Grab all of our gear and move on down the way. This fridge was off, so was moldy inside. Carpet filthy, sheets stained and holes in them. Very large rusty hole in sink faucet sprays straight out at you. Someone's used tissue was in the corner. Can't image that I will ever be this way again in my life, but if I do, I will go on by this place.
