It had been a fast trip from Greenville, Texas to Dalhart (my chosen overnight location). I booked on the TripAdvisor site. The room was everything promised and the night clerk was very helpful in choosing a restaurant among limited options on Sunday evening.
We left for Colorado the next morning but decided to stay again on the return trip from Southern Colorado. Again the young lady manning the desk was very helpful (never mind that my sales associate lost his cool and I had to step in to resolve a very minor issue) with our requirements. This is an excellent venue to save limited business dollars and get a comfortable nights sleep. Did I mention the train horns? There were a few but hey, I am in the railroad business and they sounded like money to my ears.

Room at $100+ is over-priced. In our room, several non-working lamps/lights. Bathroom fan and extra light don't work. But, several flies in the room keep it interesting. Continued road construction doesn't help; hard to get into and out of the property. Don't stay in Dalhart if possible - go to Dumas or to New Mexico. This was our 2nd, and last, stay at this facility.

During a family trip we stayed at three hotels, all of them a different Econo Lodge. This location was our last hotel and compared to the others were not as impressed. And, this one was the most expensive. The bathroom light was hanging by cords and the vent didn't work. The bathroom floor was updated hardwood but it was sticky, so I put towels down to walk on. The a/c was off and the room was humid. The room had cigarette smoke odor even though I was given a non smoking room.
The breakfast had the usual waffle maker, wrapped sweets (honey buns), and cereal. It did have biscuits and gravy and sausage which wasn't expected, but good. The refrigerator was on in the room when we arrived and there was a microwave.
The only reason I give 4 stars over 3, is because of the friendly staff at the front. If I had paid $25-30 less, then this room would have met my expectations.

Clean room, good for the price, noise from the train but not too disturbing, a lot of road construction in the area, fast food nearby, older hotel but good for passing through not for extended stay, check in staff was friendly.

I wanted to write this review for the gentleman at the front desk because when I checked it he instantly made my day better. I was having a hard time at another hotel, so I decided to stay here. He was super nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I will be staying here from now on when I travel to dalhart.
