What People are saying

I Would Recommend Them 100x Over

I had a client come from NY and recommended this hotel, as it was inexpensive and close to my location. It is in a good area that is clean, easy to get to, and has ample parking for a truck and trailer. My client had a substantial amount of cash in an envelope that he dropped in his room. He didn't realize the money was missing until we were loading up his livestock and he could not find the money, anywhere. He called the hotel and they checked his room. It was in there! It would have been so easy for the house keeper, the owner, or anyone who found the money to have kept it. Nope. They truly went above and beyond. I can not recommend them highly enough.

Extremely poor customer service

We booked this hotel for an annual trip to Winchester several months before our arrival date. The day of our arrival, the hotel decided to run our credit card before we even got there. Our bank had issued us a new card with a new number, and instead of waiting until we arrived to get the new card number, they called to see if we were still coming. We were already on the 4 hour journey to Winchester and did not get the call. They inturn, sold our room to someone else only 4 hours after check-in time. When we arrived, we were told we did not call back with another card number so they sold our room to someone else. There was not another room in town available. We did not cancel this reservation, we showed up yet were turned out on the street. When I called customer service of Choice Hotels, they were unsympathetic saying it was the discretion of management. When I called management, he was extremely rude and said it was my fault for not giving them our new credit card number yet I have called several other chain hotels and not one of them said they run the card before the person arrives. I will not support this hotel again even if it means sleeping in our vehicle as we had to this time.

A place to sleep. Nothing special. OK place with OK prices. Just needed an overnight stay.

Easy access off the highway. Easy to get gas the next day. Walking distance to Waffle House. We were traveling with our dogs and there was plenty of walking area. Be aware of those that do not pick up after their pets though. They give dog owners a bad rap. But our dogs seemed ok with the pet zone. The room was pretty clean and had tile floors which I feel are best for the pet rooms. Carpets leave stains and odors that other pets like to mark. All in all it was a good place for our travels. The bed was comfortable and had extra pillows which I like. The room seemed clean enough.

Not the best, but not the worst

I chose to stay at this motel when work schedules had me working late one night and having to be somewhere further north very early.

This Econolodge actually has interior corridors, which was interesting. I was on the first floor, so I don't know what the space above the reception desk/breakfast room holds (in the picture on TA, it's of the front of the building). The room had the requisite Econolodge layout and furnishings - I didn't notice any obvious wear, but then again, it had been a very long day.

The only thing I would note, if it's important to you, is that the room has a fridge and 'wave, but does not have a coffee-maker. My fault - I didn't read the property listing carefully enough when I booked. My bad.

Otherwise, a perfectly acceptable budget property. I just wish Econolodges would be more forthcoming about how to log into the internet, as apparently the MO is to let you figure it out on your own. This is the third property where I've had to muddle through on my own.

Low price, pretty good while you're on your way

The socio-economic facts are that the U.S. interstate system has made it easy for auto drivers to get all around the country, leading to a large number of businesses catering to the travelers who want reliable, efficient, and inexpensive services while the travelers stop for one night along these roads. The Econolodge chain is one of those businesses, and they have done a good job of providing adequate lodging that, even if bland and without charm, is at a good price.

This Econolodge does a perfectly good job of doing so, on a (typically) soul-less interstate exit. It is an older motel with some minor touch-ups, but I noted no safety issues. My room had a full bath (small), phone, AC, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and TV with 19 channels. It was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Free amenities include parking, wifi, and continental breakfast. Staff was polite and professional. For instance, when my original room had a toilet that would not stop flowing, I immediately & politely got another room. Like many interstate exits, there are innumerable restaurants & chain stores nearby.

If you just need a place to stay for one night, this place will do the job well.
