I stayed here for two nights as I was passing through Stephenville. During my stay the staff ensured I was comfortable and made every effort to do so. I see the negative reviews of this place and felt the need to respond with my opinion. While I checked in I was introduced to the new owners who just took possession of this place which happened to be during my stay . He was very inquisitive to hear about my experiences upon checkout as he was there to improve the hotel reputation and quality. I think that was important because it showed his initiative to make this hotel better.
I wouldn’t say boycott this place but give it a chance as they are under new management. Breakfast is simple and don’t expect a custom made omelette. Beds were comfortable. Location is great and close to a lot.
I wish the business some good luck. And hope those who read this don’t pass up on this hotel.

Just left and this was giving them a second chance. Stayed last year and it was less clean than I would have liked and I informed them this time they were the only vacancy and they failed last year. To start with they somehow didn't see the request for handicapped room and put us on the second floor with no elevator so that was a no go. They gave us a room on the lower floor and had me check it for cleanliness. It was ok,not great,but our only option. The next morning for breakfast they had 2 cereals,blueberry muffins,white bread,a waffle iron,biscuits and gravy in a crock pot,4 juices/juice drinks and coffee. Nothing real appetizing. That night after I showered and went to use the blow dryer it sent sparks all over me and the bathroom causing blisters. When I told them they asked me if I wanted another blow dryer that I quickly declined. The next morning the breakfast offerings were less than the day before. We asked and were told that checkout was at 11 so we headed to church. We got back at 10:30 to find our room stripped of linens and towels and the top blanket and comforter thrown on the couch which made me think they are not changed between rentals. I went to the desk and asked if it was customary to start stripping a room before people checked out and his response was did you have stuff in there to which I replied yes but the bottom line is we had not checked out yet. We had to dry our hands with Kleenex and loaded up and checked out immediately. I am surprised our things had not been removed from the room already. Save your money and never book a room here ever!!

Had two nights booked by phone. When arrived, part of the entry was cordoned off due to safety concern. The pool and hot tub were not in service. None of this was mentioned when I booked the rooms. The clerk was nice and did cancel my reservation. Hope they didn't charge.

The check in clerk was nice. Gave us a small discount because we wanted a non-smoking room but booking it through TripAdvisor and it said we needed a smoking room. Don't know how TripAdvisor messed that up. The floor felt very dirty. My wife likes to walk barefoot but she couldn't. The sheetrock in the bathroom was stained and paint peeling. The entire bathroom needed remodeling. I wouldn't stay there again unless the hotel has been remodel from top to bottom.

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at the Econo Lodge. We were originally slated to stay at the Super 8 in town but cancelled our reservations after friends ahead called back and told us NOT to stay there. Regardless, we managed to stay 2 nights here and ran into several creepy crawly cockroaches in the bathroom and in the sitting area. Luckily we did not find any on or around the bed. After finding one when we returned near our toothbrushes we promptly threw them away in the trash. The staff was friendly and helpful, it is just unfortunate that these bugs ruined our sense of cleanliness for this hotel. I would not recommend staying here until their extra guests are gone.
