Lovely guesthouse, with a warm friendly welcome, very homely. After a stressfull day arrived just as check in ending , but was met with a warm smile, shown my room then whizzed off in a taxi to event attending at the Atkinson. Had a great sleep and breakfast was just what I needed, good to see smoked haddock and kippers on the menu. Just wish I arrived earlier and stayed longer, next time! For |£38 for a lovely single ensuite with breakfast , really does offer excellent value

We've stayed here many times but, this, our first under the new owners Josie & Ian. I have to say that the high standards of the previous owners have been well maintained.
The newly refurbished room had everything required and was spotless. The condiments tray had a great selection of drinks to welcome new arrivals.
Josie was a very warm and welcoming hostess, nothing too much trouble and very friendly.
Breakfast, I have to say, was terrific. A great choice of fresh fruit and cereal, followed by a quite lovely full English brekkie.
Highly recommended and we will be back!

We have stayed here many times but this was our first visit with new owners Josie and Ian. We stayed for 5 nights in a newly refurbished room and were very well looked after, Josie was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble - thank you for the green tea bags! A great breakfast set us up nicely each day and there was even a card waiting on the table for my birthday - a lovely touch, thank you. It was lovely to meet you both and we will be back again soon.

Our family recently met up in Southport and 7 of us stayed at the Edendale in 3 different rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed being there and were looked after in a quiet, caring way with excellent attention to detail. The owners were very attentive and couldn't have done more. We were all impressed by their warmth and kindness.
The rooms were very clean and are gradually being updated. Breakfast was served in a bright, spacious dining room and everything was prepared to order. It was lovely.
Edendale is in a quiet location near Southport's promenade, Hesketh Park and Lord St and its shops are a short distance away
The honesty bar contained items at a very reasonable price.
We would like to return there when next in Southport and would like to recommend it as a really good place to stay.

The new owners made us feel very comfortable. Location is in a quiet residential street not from from the town centre. Residents car park. Room was great and excellent breakfast. Close to town centre amenities. Recommended.
