Just an overnight stay, found room to be clean, well equipped, warm and of adequate size for the purpose.Five minute drive to the city centre and adjacent to the Spirit of Tasmania terminal. Hotel has in house dining and there are restaurants, cafes and other retailers in the area.

There was some convergence of events that meant all the accommodation in Devonport was booked up. So we ended up here for one night.
It was fine. A fair bit of train noise or something beeping throughout the night.
The shower wouldn't stay an acceptable temperature and I couldn't get decent pressure through it. The room was also freezing!
But the bed was comfy and the staff were kind.

I stayed at the Edgewater a couple of years ago, but felt compelled to rate it after taking a nostalgic tour of my photos. I took a road trip around Tasmania and stayed at the Edgewater when in Devonport heading for Cradle Mountain. I got a good rate for my comfortable room and a safe place to park my borrowed car. The food was excellent and I didn't have a long wait for it to be served. I took a short walk along the river before turning in. I like a firm bed, so no complaints there. I enjoyed the location and convenience to getting back on the highway the next morning. I live in Alaska, so this was an adventure for me. The Edgewater fit right in my plans.

We stayed in Devonport after arriving on the Spirit of Tasmania on a Sunday Night. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Spirit and pretty easy to find. Had all the essentials; a renovated bathroom, comfy bed and a heater. Most restraunts closed by 8pm but quick take away is available. Might be best to call and book directly with the motel as it was more expensive to book with a third party.

We stayed here and made our booking online sight unseen, After our experience I decided to read the reviews on Tripadvisor and feel we must be in some sort of a time warp. Really really disappointed. The room was that small both our cases wouldn't fit. The bed was as hard as a rock and the pillows seriously couldn't be fluffed as they no longer contained any. Room and bathroom, (which was hard to turn around in) at least was clean. We arrived on the Sunday night boat and couldn't even get any food. This is seriously not good enough. Will never return and have booked elsewhere already for out return journey.
